I was hoping to get my weight down before getting pregnant AGAIN, but there is no way I can be unhappy about being pregnant. I just found out today and only my husband and I know. We will be telling our families tomorrow (appropriate, right?) I am switching to the Brewer Pregnancy Diet. It is not a weight loss diet but a minimum daily intake diet for pregnant women to be eating the healthiest variety of foods for growing a baby. It is a well-rounded plan. It is not healthy for me to be trying to lose weight right now so I will try just not to gain until at least the second trimester. I will continue to exercise and eat gluten-free. I am super happy and I'll just start losing weight again after I have the baby. We are probably looking at a January due date.

I am due in November and was a little sad at first that I didn't reach my goal weight after having my daughter in 2011. I am doing my best to watch what I eat and make better choices this time. I will look up the Brewer Pregnancy Diet because I have been looking for some help/inspiration. Thank you so much and I'm glad I found someone in my boat. I'm 5'8 and before having my daughter, I had reached the 190's in 2009. I lost 45 pounds through hard work, gained 50 during pregnancy, lost 40 again and now here I am again but not trying to put that yo-yo fluctuation and stress on my body. Best of luck to you and CONGRATS!!!

From a mom with 2 kids 364 days apart, I can honestly say that daily walking was the best thing for keeping my weight gain minimal. I walked about 45 minutes (sometimes broken down to 2 20ish minute sessions) everyday. And pushing a stroller is great low impact resistance training! Good luck to both of you!

Yes. I kept my weight down walking during my last pregnancy, UNTIL the last month when they put me on bedrest because of preeclampsia (which was managed pretty well with bedrest btw) and I wasn't allowed to walk. That's when I got swollen. I hardly had any stretch marks until that last month either.
