So I had a dream last night about Friday Night Fish Fry. In my dream I was extremely pissed off that I couldn't have fish fry - and for some odd reason I was mad at my Mom. "I never get to do what I want to do!" - I yelled in the dream.

A little backstory is that I have grown accustomed to having Friday Night Perch & Shrimp fry from a local bar with my parents. I have only done this once since starting the diet. One reason being the diet and the other being that I have been filling in on the front desk on Fridays and have to work till 9 - which is too late for my parents to have dinner with me.

Anyway, I woke up in a crappy mood, which has stayed with me most of the day. About a half hour ago, my mom texted me to join them for fish and I told her I don't get done with work until 9. She said she could order me fish and I could pick it up and drive to their house and eat it later (they would have already finished theirs). I declined. Drive a half hour plus just for something I shouldn't be eating anyway?? naaah.
I miss spending the time with my parents though.

Anyway, I think I am going to stick with the "spike diet" idea and allow myself one day cheat in every 7. This day of the week may vary with circumstance. But hopefully that will help me not be in such a terrible mood due to dreams about food I can't have and allow me to indulge once in a while.

Even without using the scale as a way to measure if this is working my friends and coworkers are starting to notice I've lost weight. I hope it keeps up. FS calculated a 1400 calorie RDI but WebMD says 1200. I am trying to stick between that but I often go over 1200. I hope my cheat day has sabotaged nothing and that I can make this thing a sustainable "lifestyle change" rather than a diet I can't wait to quit!

Hi Megan, Don't feel bad about having your fish fry once in a while. Maybe not every week but maybe once a month. I go to wing night at the Legion where I have a good feed of them along with some beers. Only once a month and boy oh boy do I look forward to it.

Thanks! I think I will make the plan that I can have fish fry once every couple of weeks, but not EVERY Friday like I had been. :)
