Blood sugar 133. Going down but still eating too many carbs. Could not sleep last night. Up 5x to bathroom and one time to eat snack due to hunger. About 4 hrs. sleep total. Yet, I still feel great this morning! Ready to begin again. Tomorrow and Friday will probably be off-line except for food log. Busy day at work with Kg round-up. Friday and weekend out of town for nieces Nursing Graduation. Yeah!

If you are having cravings you arent getting enough fat in your diet, use heavy cream not half & half, bake some chicken breasts with skin using REGULAR Chicken Broth (College Inn) with fat, and add some melted butter over the chicken... and eat the skin. Use olive oil mixed with Wishbone Ranch Dressing over your salads. Cravings will go away when you eat enough of the good fats. Cut back on the grams of protein too... I had to do that. And my blood sugar levels dropped into the NORMAL range of 92 within 45 days of being on Adkins, my doctor says this is a wonderful healthy diet for me and he is thrilled! Stick with it... follow the rules closely and you will do fine! I have lost 38 pounds since mid February!

Thank you VKelley for the reminder to increase my fat intake. I knew that from doing Atkins for so many years but I tend to forget. I appreciate your input and will make a better effort to stay closer to
Atkins guidelines.

I lost 40 lbs on Atkins..years ago! I've recently been diagnosed diabetic 2 and am waking up with hunger and cravings for carbs. Drank an Atkins shake before bed last night and slept through the night, even though bs this morning was 150. I always feel sick if my bs goes below 120 and I'm supposed to get to the 80-100 range.

I have syncope problems when I stand up, esp. if bs is lower than 120. Not sure what to do about it.
