Meditate on this: If our words have the power to become reality, isn’t it in the enemy’s interest for us to speak his words or his desires? He has the ability to disguise himself as an “angel of light,” so getting us to prophesy his desires of doom and gloom is no problem. We only have to look at our past experiences or the experiences of others, accept them as the “norm“ or reality for the future, ignoring the word of God, and the enemy’s predictions will certainly come to pass. Change your reality. Change your future. Stop agreeing with the devil. “Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a female slave who had a (evil) spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved.” She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her. When her owners realized that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities. They brought them before the magistrates and said, “These men are Jews, and are throwing our city into an uproar by advocating customs unlawful for us Romans to accept or practice.” The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods.” Acts 16:16-22
"Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." James 5:13-16
(Note: By telling or confessing our trespasses, failures, problems or mistakes, to other believers we should have a confident expectation of forgiveness, reconcilation, restoration and healing. If someone comes to us seeking help and we can't offer such love to them, or act in faith for them, then we are not effective or powerful to allow God to work through us.)
