Okay, I can lose more weight any time now......

So hard to be patient some days. Doesn't help that my hubby rocketed to his goal weight in no time (after being introduced to low carb by me, of course). Here it is a year and a half later and I am no closer to my goal. Just sitting at the same weight day after day.

I know, logically, that HE didn't spend seven months in pain from a back injury and two more months recovering from surgery, during which time diet and exercise were very low on the priority list, but some days it just seems unfair.

I know there are bigger problems in the world, but it's just one of those "Woe is me" kind of days, I guess.

Today's run didn't quite go as planned. I decided to wear my socks again today, but keep the straps loose on my shoes. I got to about 20 minutes, when my foot started to go numb again, so I stopped and took off the socks before finishing out the run. I didn't get my podcast stopped, so I lost about three minutes, but I'm not going to stress over it. Numbness went away for a couple of minutes, but then started again the last couple of minutes.

My hubby (he's a runner) suggested that it may be caused by loss of good form as I tire, resulting in more impact going up to my back. I run with a forefoot strike, but as I get tired, I do notice that I have a flatter strike. Not a heel strike, but definitely more of my foot.

Not sure how to progress. Maybe breaking up my runs into intervals again with some walking and just trying to get to 5k total until I have better endurance? I'm only at about 2 miles right now with straight running. I guess I'll try it out in a couple of days and see how it goes.

Sorry for rambling, guys. Just need to write it all down so I can stop obsessing about it and getting down on myself.

OK! Have a good rest of the weekend FS friends. I'm sending good wishes your way for success on your journeys.

Sorry to hear about the numbness coming back.... But it's good to get it "off your chest". Breaking up your runs seems a good idea.... You will soon be able to build up again. It's a bummer.... Men always seems to be able to loose weight quicker - they don't have the hormones to deal with... Stick at it... You are healthier and fitter you were and that's what counts :-)

I agree, I think backing it off to more intervals sounds like a good plan - you don't want to sacrifice good form and pain if your body isn't ready for quite that much straight running yet! Keep on pushing, it sucks to be so frustrated, but stay diligent about keeping the closest to complete food logs that you possibly can..
