Much better number on the scale this morning. Almost back down to my lowest weight so far. Hopefully, this trend keeps up for a while.
Bit of a stressful morning. I had to go to my son's school for an annual conference regarding his learning disability. He has dysgraphia, which is a written expression disorder involving handwriting, spelling and grammar, so school is a struggle for him. He is so smart, but just can't seem to get his thoughts out on paper.
Nothing like sitting in a room with a bunch of teachers and administrators staring at you and telling you all the ways your kid is failing. Blah :-(
Luckily, he will be getting more time to work on his writing next year when he starts sixth grade. If he can't keep up next year, though, I may have to consider homeschooling him again, at least for the rest of junior high, to see if I can't get him up to speed for high school.
I did it before, when he was in second grade, and he had large improvements. I don't know if the hubby will be on board with that though, as it would delay my return to work full time. I guess I shouldn't worry about it until we see how he does, but, that's what moms do :-)
Well, enough rambling. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Yeah... Good news that you are nearly down to your lowest weight :-). It must be difficult, to sit and listen to negative feedback, about someone you love. I hope his written expression improves, when he moves to the sixth grade. Fingers crossed :-)

Hi, Michaele, I used to work for a behavioral optometrist as a vision therapist for a few years. Check out this website and read over vision and learning. www.covd.org Could be worth bringing him into an Optometrist who takes a more in depth look at binocular vision and how the brain uses the eyes together as a team as opposed to just seeing the 20/20 line on the projector chart.

Job well done on the weightloss, Michaele. Definitely must be tough to deal with the teachers at your son's school. I hope he gets the help he deserves.

@CJT1217 Thank you so much for this information! I had never heard of these types of vision problems or therapies before. We are definitely going to have him evaluated. So many of the symptoms sound like the problems he experiences. You have given a spark of hope to an otherwise dark day. Thanks again :-)
