Got up at 6:00 this fine Sunday morning. Ran my 8.0 miles at an easy pace. That's not to say that it was an easy run. It was a continuous mind-game - more mental than physical. Alternated ice between knees and calves for a little while; feel good as new . . . well, good as I felt yesterday. Been out working the loader/backhoe most of the day, clearing old brick and doing a bit of landscaping. Still got some plumbing to do - a bathroom faucet decided to come apart this morning. I'm taking the day off from work - and from any kind of exercising tomorrow. Hope everyone has a fine evening and an even better day tomorrow! Toodles!

Sunday is your long run day too huh? And a sleep in day? ;-) Ice is our friend. You're just a busy beaver. Enjoy your day of rest tomorrow.

Nice job on the 8-miler! You're right, running is such a mental thing.. it's fun to be able to conquer it though!! Glad you're feeling good, enjoy your rest day tomorrow, you definitely deserve it!!

Wow you have really added some mileage since I was last on here. Good for you. 8 miles thats great. Do you know your time? Have you ever seen the movie "Run Fatboy Run" One of my favorites. Love the way he "hits the wall" during a marathon and over comes it. I am sure it is the same for you. Keep on running! or hoein which ever is more fun lol

Petuniak, are you saying I'm a "Fatboy"? Haha; well, I am. Time is relevant. Let's just say my time is improving. Let me put it another way: if I was flying, instead of running a marathon, they'd have to serve me three meals and a movie.

Aw, thanks; I figure I have to make good use of whatever time I have left. :) Yesterday, after getting back from the vet, my wife says, "It's absolutely driving you crazy - not doing anything, isn't it? I said, "Yes" and I went and got on my tractor and wore myself out. Now, I'm not a workaholic; it wouldn't bother me any to sit and watch TV and eat doritos all day - until the next day, at which time I would be kicking myself in the a$$ for having blown my diet, without having accomplished anything at all.

HA DK no way would I call you a fat boy. I understand, sometimes just making it is enough. Thats a heck of a lot more than I can do. I am celebrating 3.0 miles this week. I cant do more on the tread/elip but I figure thats not where the 10k is going to be so I better train on the road. maybe they would show Run Fat Boy Run on your flight lol
