I went for an early morning run again. Same distance of just under 5k. It was a struggle! For the first 10 to 15 min I wanted to stop after every step but I kept going. Great sense of accomplishment at the end but I think I should have rested today or done something different. I will go for a fast walk tomorrow maybe with some intermittent running. The good thing is how it sets me up for a day of being mindful of my choices.

Definitely sets your day up right, Lara. Sorry about the struggle, so PROUD about the accomplishment. Rock on, girl! Maybe the runners in the community will give you some suggestions about running consecutive days. Maybe it was just. Bad day you pushed through like a champ.

Heather... I kept going because I knew I would feel great afterwards but I really hated running today. I guess you sometimes get this feeling with your workouts but you are a pro and just push through it. You've achieved so much in a year, a true inspiration!

Thanks Lara. Last year when I walked that 10k, one of the participants told me a statistic he'd learned, in out of ten workouts, how many we're great, good and bad. Of course now I don't remember the numbers. I'm going to write today and find out. I do know that some are better than others, though, and maybe that's what you experienced today. Anyway, you did it!

Thanks Skinny...I still don't understand what drives us to do what's necessary. When I was struggling I knew what I should do but nothing in the world could make me do it. This week I thought I really needed to get off my lazy bum and I just did it.

Way to go Lara..Some times you just have to force the issue but not too much..and I agree if you push just a little and finish..you do feel good...Great job...:O)

Nice run!! Way to push through - running is such a mental game.. Rpalmst posted this in his journal awhile back and might help you decide when/if to run... If you score 7 or higher you cross train.
How hard was your run yesterday?
1 - Easy
2 - Average
3 - Unusually hard or long
How are you feeling today?
1 - Great
2 - Not too bad
3 - I hurt more than I'd like to admit
How many days in a row have you run
1
2
3
Hope that helps!
