So I hadn't really done much regular lifting in a very long while and found myself yesterday feeling severe pain in my pecs, triceps, and abs... from training two days before. Of course, I have found this phenomenon to happen to me before, but it really hit me this time. My nursing student friend called this DOMS and my buddy said the best way to get rid of the pain was to work out again.
I read in wikipedia about DOMS and found out it is a good thing in terms of gaining muscle size:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delayed_onset_muscle_soreness
It means the muscles are rebuilding... hopefully bigger and better. I worked out today and, indeed, the pain has subsided. Of course, two days from now...
