FRIDAY...
and it's a late journal entry for me. We got the house cleaned up Wednesday, then watched Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International.
Yesterday, was our day at mom's. We had traded with middle sis so that mom could go to the basketball game. My nephew, Brett, scored 15 points, 13 of them in the last quarter. He got quite a nice mention in the news article, and from what I heard it was quite an exciting, back and forth game.
I got part of my walk in before we headed out to mom's. I ended up with almost 9,000 steps yesterday.
On our way to mom's the Oldsmobile's power steering pump decided to bite the dust. Luckily I was almost to the exit we were heading for when it happened. After pulling over at a gas station and checking under the hood, we limped along for the last 2 miles to mom's. The power steering wasn't working, so it was a bear to steer. I was hoping that it just needed fluid, but no such luck. I am going to talk to some of the fellas at church and see if they can assist me in replacing the pump. My youngest son, Jake, drove the 40 miles and rescued us. :) We left "Baby" in mom's driveway, and will drive "Bertha" in the meantime...just in time for the rise in gas prices. "Bertha" only gets about 10 MPG...and of course this is the weekend we have to make 4 trips down there in 3 days! lol Ahhh, life, gotta love it! lol
Tonight we are headed to the church to hear a concert by Pastor Mark, his son Connor, and Pastor Brandon. Jake and his wife are going, and then coming back here for dinner. Dan's spaghetti sauce and noodles for them with salad and cheesy garlic bread. For us, it is the sauce with zucchini noodles and salad. For dessert, a new recipe, raspberry/lemon cream pie. Hope it's good.
The weather here is nasty...very cold with about 35-40 mile an hour winds, so no walk today. :( Hoping that it is much improved tomorrow and I can get out and move. Should get a little more in tonight at the church. Tomorrow we clean the church, so that should give me a bit more steps wise, and I am hoping it makes up for the low steps of yesterday and today. We will see.
Well, that's about all the news that's fit to print from my corner...hope all is well in your's!
I will try to catch up with all of you when I get a few minutes...I am missing reading your journals!
TTFN!
~Stef~

Hi darling, how's ya doing? Its currently 74 degrees in Daytona, a lovely warm evening! Sorry to hear of your car troubles, and gas is hellish expensive isn't it, but still cheaper I think than what we normally pay in Ontario. We are having a wonderful time on vacation. Haven't connected to Cathy yet but still hopeful we will connect next week. She is busy with her daughter and the house closing etc. Hubby and I are having a lovely time, and MIL is enjoying herself too. Big hugs, and thinking about you as always.

Hey there Miss Steffie! I have read up on your last three journals and got so tickled at your 5 year forecast for weight loss....LMAO! You have to laugh. You have done so well losing weight and I see all the energy you have now compared to before you lost all that weight. You are very blessed and I am so proud of you, too. Keep up whatever it is you are doing because your health is what it's all about! BIG HUGS!!!

Oh... I had to tell you.. I fixed an awesome meat sauce tonight (tasted like spaghetti sauce) and served it over cut up cooked cabbage. I LOVED it! Hubby isn't fond of cabbage but he ate it up, too.

Sorry to hear you had car trouble - Of course if you own a car you automatically have trouble. Hope the weather clears up soon so you can get outside.

Hi stef, I'm not sure how you fit in all those steps with everything going on. Good for you. Poor "Baby" Oldsmobile. I guess she must need a rest. But car troubles with all you had going on yesterday couldn't ave been fun. Enjoy you concert and your dinner tonight. The raspberry/lemon cream pie sounds scrumptious. So does Dan's meal. I think I'm hungry. Hope your weather gets better too.

sorry to hear about your car troubles Stef. Glad you you are surrounded with such a loving, supportive community. Just want to say how much I appreciate your time and visits on my journal. Would be lonely without you!!! Your plans for the dinner sound wonderful, especially that pie lol. Homemade tomato sauce with zucchini and pasta is tops on my fave foods. Nice going with your steps. You have an active lifestyle, plenty of exercise and bursts of energy for you. God bless. :)

Thanks, Lizzie. He is one of three, and we love them all! Oy (the one in the picture) is a pyreness/aussie mix, and he is a great guard doggie. I do have a great family...both my blood family and my church family. I am truly blessed! :)
