WHEW, GLAD THAT WEEK IS PAST...

Saturday morning, coffee is done, need to get some breakfast made and eat. Thinking about some poached eggs with a bit of cream sauce...Bren's suicide breakfast has me craving biscuits and gravy, but can't have the biscuits so I will simply put some gravy on my eggs. lol

I went to the basketball game last night with both my sisters, my BILs, my niece, and my mom. Watched my middle sis' youngest play...he is quite talented. Alas, their team lost, but the season isn't over yet. They have a few more games to play. I had a great time watching and spending some time with my family. Hubby stayed home...it is simply not enjoyable for him...he can't see the game, it is too loud for him to hear me try to give a play by play...sad, but true. When I got home, he had the stereo blasting, listening to Electric Light Orchestra...such a great band! The first thing he said..."Did you eat popcorn?" What is it with that man...could he smell it on my breath, or what??? I chewed gum between the game and home, so I don't think that was it...maybe he just knows me too well. So the answer was "YES! I shared some popcorn with my sisters, my mom, and my niece!! And I LIKED IT!!" He just laughed and "Baby!!!" I entered it into my food journal, and was still below 50 grams for the day. Maybe the carb shock will cause the scale to move. lol

I got over 10,000 steps in yesterday again, so perhaps, hopefully, I am back on track with the walking and moving. The weather this next week is supposed to be sunny and in the 50's all week, so I should be able to get out everyday and walk. That's a good thing for me both physically and mentally. I have been doing well with my food (with the exception of the popcorn), and will continue to keep on keeping on. I know that Paula (jsfantome) is kind of stalled out, the same as I and, like me, is wondering what the heck? I did notice an interesting coincidence...we both seem to be stalled out at about 60 pounds lost. Wonder if there is any connection? I know the last time I hit this 60 pound lost point it took months for me to get past that number. It may be just what I said, a coincidence...anyone else found that there is a certain level where the weight loss seems to just stop for a while? It really doesn't matter, as I still have that much more to lose, but it is interesting to attempt to figure out the why, what, when, and where of these stalls. If we could do that, we would be giants among the scientific weight loss community! lol

Well, time to eat something...the heavy cream in my coffee just isn't enough to stave off the hunger any longer.

All is well in my corner of the world, hope it's the same in your's.

TTFN!!

~Stef~

Oh man, I can't wait until I can build up to that 10,000 steps. Stef, 60 lbs may be a magic number. I got below it and bounced back up to it at Christmas. Maybe if we all commune and make a concerted effort, we can beat it. Mine is a mental thing. I keep sabotaging myself. I'm glad you had fun with the family and went ahead and had that popcorn. Sometimes, the little things we do for ourselves are very good things, and you STILL didn't go over. LOL! Love you lady!!!

Hey Stef - can you give me the short version low down on Primal? Obviously, it's protein high. But are there some very specific do's and don'ts.. you'll save me a ton of research!! LOL! Thanks.

I like walking as well but don't think I'm anywhere close to 10,000 steps. I really have to get one of those Fitbit thingys. It does get harder to lose weight the closer you get to your goal. I hope you get thru this plateau soon.

Great to hear you are well again Stef. :) How long have you been stalled at 60 pounds lost? (BTW WOW!!! Such an amazing achievement!!) Have heard "The weight loss community" suggest to look at things over a three week period to see if a stall is really a stall or just a temp thing, e.g. hormones, water retention, digestion, etc. Good job getting all those steps in!!

Funny - when I go out my husband sniffs my breath for vodka. BTW - Don't know about you but I'm about sick of my 4 month stall.

Hey Stef my dear..It is strange that some have stalled at 60 pounds lost...Maybe its the body saying give me a minute to adjust..and maybe it wants to keep it for survival...you know when some one goes on a very strict diet and loses and then their body goes into starvation mode??..not saying this is the cause because people on atkins and your WOE, eat a little more as you should on these programs..I wish I could eat that way..but I know me and my bread...I am just not willing to give it up...unless they find I have to go gluten free..I was reading about my condition in a pamplet from the doctors office and some people like me have to leave out the gluten...will have to get with Jo is this is soo...and pick her brain for what to do..LOL...So glad you had a great time at the game and WOW girl on the steps...I am getting closer to being able to catch up with you...Love you to pieces and GREAT BIG HUGS....:O)

Stef, let's get this whole puzzle figured out, shall we? And maybe pocket a cool million bucks for doing it?? The 60-pounds theory is certainly as good a theory as any. I've often wondered if it isn't something like a time period....your body gives you a year, or maybe even just 6 months, or a year and a half, or whatever (depends on each individual) and then it says, "Wait just a minute here....I "shouldn't" be losing weight like this on such a regular basis and I'm not going to do it any more"....and then it doesn't, until it resets itself, or is jolted back into weight loss by a change in food or calories or exercise or whatever. Remember that even the Atkins book talks about if one takes a breather from weight loss, one's body is resistant to further loss for about 6 months - but why IS that???? Wish we all knew the magic combination. Have a great week getting all that walking in.
