BACON...IT'S A GOOD THING!!!

I got up this morning and fried some bacon to go with my morning eggs!!! YUMMO! lol I know, I know...for most of you, bacon isn't a big deal, but when you are a primal eater, believe me, IT IS!!! All meat is!!! lol So, I made us a scrumptious, eggs-with a nice side of bacon, breakfast and it was wonderful! lol I am contemplating the chocolate covered bacon for a treat! lol I think I may be high on bacon!!!!!!

Anyway, we did find some great deals on the meat yesterday as I stated in my late night journal, and I also found some new low carb yogurt flavors...banana cream pie and white chocolate raspberry...at only 60 calories and 4 grams of carbs, I will indulge myself from time to time! Had a banana cream pie one for a snack today...very tasty!

Oh the exercise front, well I had about 8,100 steps yesterday, burned a total of 2,391 calories for the day, which created about a 1,000 calorie deficit...happy with that, I am(said in my best Yoda voice)! I have some more errands to run today, then hoping to get home and do some cleaning. Dinner tonight will include bacon wrapped jalapenos, made with real slices rather than ends and pieces! lol

They have issued a winter weather advisory for this evening for ice...guess we'll see, but I fully intend to be back home before it starts, which means I need to get a move on!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

TTFN!!

Bacon - one of the many reasons I resist going primal.

PS Watch out for that ice - hate that more than snow.

OO La La, that yogurt sounds delicious. I wish we had some of these great places around us. We have a Walmart but it is a very small one and it doesnt' have all the good foods that I hear about. It has small isles and NO frozen stuff or meats.:(:( I am so happy you found so many great deals on meats. Want to stock my freezer too.lol I will definately be raising some pigs, meat birds and turkeys this year for sure. Have a wonderful weekend and I GOT MY LAPTOP. Your not going to get rid of me now.lol HUGS:):)

Baaaaaaaaacon. The cheapest I've found it was some at Patricia's that was almost out of date. It was $2.50 so I indulged in a lb for New Years Day. In the news last night, they announced that Missouri has the highest food prices in the Nation. Then they proceeded to give comparison's from the KC, MO stores and the KS stores just the other side of State Line and the prices were SIGNIFICANTLY more in MO. WTH! I knew it wasn't my imagination. They compared things like apples, potatoes, bacon, etc. I'm afraid it made me really angry. I would shop in KS, but I would spend as much in gasoline as I would get in savings. It's REALLY HARD on those of us with low, fixed incomes . . . both the groceries AND the gasoline. Love you Steph. Sorry to sound so belligerent.

I love bacon. One of my favorite smells is bacon and onion simmering in a pan. I've always said if someone sold a good bacon and onion scented candle I'd buy it!

I looooove bacon. It makes me happy. The cheapest I've found around here (OR) is 3lbs for $10 without being on special. I hit up Costco for the 24 egg guys so I need to check their bulk bacon and see if its cheaper. When I had DD I bought a chest freezer for storing milk but now its stuffed full of meat! Good going on the deficit counting. You're doing so well! And I'm jealous of your real weather. We got a winter advisory, all of Portland started freaking out, and the lite dusting my place got was gone in half an hour. DD was all jazzed up and it was gone before she even got her snow pants on - which are still unused. But thats ok because I made her baaaacon and eggs for breakfast. :)

Bren, when I went back to IGA today to pick up more bacon for the freezer, they told me their sausage is also awesome, made fresh in the store every day. I am thinking I have a new grocery store. Their eggs alone are almost $1 a dozen cheaper than Kroger. I do love me some bacon! LOL The chart is getting there, but still have a way to go before I get to the low again...but get there I will!!! Have a great weekend!!! Hugs and lots of love my sweet friend! <3

Buffy, I take it you don't like bacon??? lol If you go primal, you don't have to eat bacon...the primal pyramid actually has veggies and fruits as the base, then meat (including BACON!!!)...lol Have a great day, and I am with you, I hate driving on the ice.

Laurie, I do love the carbmaster yogurt. It is like a nice dessert. I am so glad you finally got your laptop!! How exciting is that??? Now you can be on here as much as you want! Love you, my sweet friend...have a great weekend!

Bonnie, I know, right? That is why I was so excited about this bacon...$1.99 a pound for freshly sliced, slab bacon is unheard of in this day and age. So I stocked up! lol I can believe that the prices here in Missouri are the highest in the nation. I have been telling Kroger that for years. I told them yesterday when I was in there, that I was going to IGA because the prices there were better. Have a great weekend, my friend. Maybe these better prices are soon to become more commonplace! Love you!

That is super cheap for bacon! Hubby has to watch his cholesterol so we only do the turkey bacon here now :( We haven't gotten any snow here in Kansas this year and I'm not missing it I must say. The boys are, that's how they make a little money, shoveling snow. Have a wonderful weekend.

Mmmmmmmm BACON! Love it with me eggs, I do. We've had our snow (still here) freezing rain and now it's over 40 and melting like mad for the moment. Have no idea what's in store but staying inside with my cup of hot herbal tea. Made an eggplant pizza today. Turned out better than I thought it would. Happy n safe weekend! (((HUGS)))♥

Hey, Christy. It's funny...my dad's doctors told him for years that he couldn't have eggs and bacon due to his cholesterol issues...then in the last couple years of his life they told him those things don't have the impact on his cholesterol that they originally thought. Newer studies are showing that carbs have a bigger impact. It is so crazy..things change so much, so rapidly, and the medical community has a hard time keeping up with the new research. I sure do wish we would get some snow...St. Louis got hit with the ice this evening...we got nothing! Kansas usually has lots of snow, at least where my family are, and they haven't had any either! Really odd weather we are having this year. Have a great weekend!

Ruby, I love it with ANYTHING!!! lol I saw that you all were getting slammed with the snow and ice...glad it is melting for you! The eggplant pizza sounds good. I am going to try to make the Taco Bake, but change it to Pizza Bake. YUMMY!! Have a great weekend!! Love ya, my friend!

Bacon Bacon BACON!!!! LOL!!! My hubby is working nights this winter. Poor guy is totally turned around in terms of his time clock. So, he eats a lot of breakfast ... i.e. BACON!!! I cooked it twice today for him. Bacon sandwich when he got home at 5 this morning and then bacon, hashbrowns, and an over easy egg for "breakfast" before he headed back to work this afternoon. I, however, only ate it once, this morning with eggs. Great minds Stef ... we must have been eating together separately!! LOL!! I've been buying John Morrell bacon ... our local grocery store has it on sale for $2.59 but I'm not sure the package is a whole pound. They are tricky that way, have you noticed? Packages have shrunk but the prices have stayed the same or sometimes even gone up!!! I've noticed this with cereal, ice-cream, and coffee for certain. Well I'm babbling at this point. Have a wonderful night ... quite a spunky journal for a woman who said she had the blahs!!! Take care my sweet, bacon loving, friend!! Oh I still need to try those jalapeno wrappers and chocolate covered bacon?? Would love to try that too!!!
