oops - way over the carb limit today, but only because I had to eat two cough drops to keep my co-workers from strangling me. Could NOT stop coughing today. Was UP another 4 ounces this morning, even after drinking tons of water and green tea last night. Had this phenomenon explained to me though - it's called the Whoosh phenomenon - the fat cells, newly emptied of fat, fill right back up with water and don't let go - it can take up to six weeks of low carb eating to reverse this. :( I'll stick it out. My ketosticks show I'm burning the fat, so SOMETHING is working right. Also discovered that the increase in meats and cheeses are very likely the cause for my problem with increased mucous production - has to do with acidity vs. alkalinity - rather scientific stuff, but it makes sense. So now I need to cut back on the meats and dairy and up my intake of veggies, eggs, tofu, and tea. Fun fun - ain't never easy for ME. :( BTW - did you know that cough drops have FOUR grams of carbs APIECE??? SHEESH!!

When your sick, you can throw you body chemistry off track. I would focus on staying on plan and getting healthy again. Then see what happens with the weight.
