MONDAY...BLAH!!

Not sure why, but I am having a hard time getting my act in gear today. I woke at 7, had a killer headache, so decided to lie there a while longer. Cats decided at 8:30 that they were having none of it, so I got up, checked the bowls...Mister Bigglesworth, the keeper of the bowls insists that there be no white showing, and the water be continually topped off. If they aren't he will serenade (and I use that word loosely) you until you get up and fill them. Then decided that I still wasn't feeling quite up to snuff, so laid back down for a few minutes, and the next thing I knew it was 10. I never sleep that late anymore, so not sure what is going on. I do have a killer headache, my nose is stopped up, and I feel a bit feverish. Sure hope that I am not catching the creeping crud that has been making it's rounds at church. So many people come when they are sick, coughing and sneezing, and I can almost feel the germs crawling on my skin. Then there is all the handshaking and hugging! OY!! there is one good thing about not eating the goodies I make and take, or the Bread Company cinnamon struesel bagel slices Pastor's dad provides each Sunday...I don't have to worry about the germs that people are depositing when they grab some off the trays! lol

Yesterday was a good day. As I said, wonderful lesson taught by the youth pastor, awesome worship music, and fantastic fellowship. We came home and had some lunch, intending to take a short nap, but that was not to be. We ended up having to go to mom's a bit earlier than planned, but that was ok. Got the pill minder filled, finished the game of Rummy we had in play, and played another one. I made mom fried chicken patty sandwiches for dinner...I had 2-6 inch pieces of celery and a diet DOC (the new soda by Pepsi to compete with Dr. Pepper) which I really liked. We got home about 10 pm and hubby made me a steak, spinach, and salad for dinner. Scrumptious!!

Did well with the food...steps could have been better, but Sunday is historically my lowest activity day, so I was pleased to have the 6537 steps I had. I still burned 2369 calories and only took in about 1400 so a nice deficit. Can't complain too much about that. Scale is still the same today as the last 2 days, but it will start to move again. I have been weighing in the morning instead of the afternoon the last few days, and I always weigh less in the afternoon, so perhaps I'll check my weight a little later and see if it is down any. I have a lot more domestic engineering chores to accomplish this week...closets to clean out, finish the spare rooms, and the everyday chores. I am hoping for an extremely productive week...which is why I really hope this nose and head thing is just a passing thing.

Well, didn't think I had much to say, but obviously I was wrong. One more thing...I started a group on the FB site called FSFBers for those of you who are using the Fitbit and are interested. It is by invite only, so if you would like to join, please pm me your email addy and I will send you an invite. Bren, I already sent one to you since I had your email addy already. Should be lots of fun, another tool for our success in 2012!!

TTFN!!

~Stef~

Stef, I sure hope you're not coming down with what I have. I sounds like the same starting symptoms, except I was drippy instead of stuffy. If you have the time, sleep it off . . . and zinc seems to be shortening my time with it. I'm feeling a lot better today. I'm still congested, but not like I was. As soon as I get my Fitbit and start my account, I'll let you know. I would like to join your group. Take care of yourself my friend. I love you!!!

Ryan, yes it is the card game...as for the soda, some does...some has Splenda. I try to only drink soda on very rare occasions for that reason!

Stef, it sure is great seeing a journal entry from you nearly every day again! I missed that so much. Just didn't seem like the same FS without your take on the day. I, too, seem to feel the germs blanketing me when everyone around me is coughing and hacking at church. You know me and the sanitizer....got to grab a wipe as soon as I'm back in the car, even though it won't deter the airborne germs I already breathed in. Hope you feel better soon.

Bonnie, I sure hope so also...if I get it, then DH gets it, and that is never a good thing...both of us being sick at the same time! So glad you are feeling better my friend. Your FB should probably be there today! YAY...let me know. Love you my friend. Be sure to bundle up tonight for our meeting under the moon!!! Hugs and have a fabulous day, sweet friend of mine!

Sandy, I keep a pump bottle of sanitizer in both vehicles, a travel size in my purse, a pump on the hall tree just inside the front door, one in the kitchen, and one in the bathroom. Not too worried about it any other time of the year, but during flu season I get paranoid, since it takes me so long to get over illness. And baby sis just told me her boss has an extremely contagious form of pneumonia, and has been coming to work, even though her doctor told her to stay off planes and away from her grandchildren...some people just don't get it...if they go out in the public with these contagious bugs, they just spread it around. Have a great day!

Hope you start feeling better and get no worse, I know it's that time of year for getting this stuff. You are always so busy it won't hurt for you to have some extra rest. I do have the fitbit on my list of wants but have to wait to get it.....I should have asked for one for Chrsitmas......oh well. Keep safe away from bugs......and have a wonderful day.

Oh I hope you just picked up one little bug and it goes away again. Sometimes, rest is all you need to overcome a bug. I have been shoving hot bowls of my chicken soup through a lot of computer screens lately, so I will send you some too... for you and your DH. ;) How wonderful you were able to bake cookies for church and not eat any. I think I would have had to buy packaged cookies and not gone through the good smells in the kitchen. I love playing card games. Wish I lived near you and your mom.. we could have a blast. LOL!

Hi Stef! Sorry to hear about the blah... I think I'm there with you. Also have a headache today, but I doubt I'm getting sick. Somehow I've managed to escape being sick so far (knock wood), even with hubby sick and hacking all over me in his sleep (I have him trained to do the vampire cough when he's awake... asleep? All bets are off!). Son was also sick and I didn't get it from him, either. Here's hoping to shake that feeling! Sleep, take your vitamins and eat well and hopefully you'll be fine. Love you, friend!

Stef - Didn't get to read this until this evening so hope you are feeling better. Your group sounds wonderful but I think I'm a full year away from the Fitbit. Let me master the elliptical first.

Bren, I was out and howled at our FS full moon!! I also went to Wally World and did a bit of shopping...not much, just a quick in and out, then came home and did some cleaning. So far I am at 7500 steps for the day...maybe I'll get another 1000 in tonight. DH suggested I go out and run around the house a few times. LOL Not planning on that, though! We are watching Red Riding Hood and the coyotes are singing, so nope, not gonna venture out to see if there are any wolves around!!! lol Have a great rest of your evening my sweet friend. Love ya! HUGS!!!

D, I told hubby today "Don't you hate that feeling where you feel like you are talking through your nose?" His answer..."You are!" Smart aleck! lol So that is how I am feeling...head cold or whatever the heck it is! I have pretty much avoided the worst crud going around, and am hoping that continues...would be a bummer to get sick now, but with the weather doing it's crazy stuff it wouldn't surprise me. Have a great evening, D and know that I love ya, my lovely friend!!! <3<3<3<3

Great job avoiding germs on "trays"- funny lady. ;-). Hope you can keep up the rest and head off the worst of it. Take good care Steph. :)

Maria, after seeing some of the people coughing or sneezing and then reach over and grab something off those trays...well, let's just say that I am glad that I don't eat that stuff! lol Take care yourself!!
