Boxing is a blast! Had my boxing training today and I loved it. It was an awesome workout. Got my heart rate up fast and steady, really worked out my arms, core and legs. Wow. I may have to take up boxing.
Found out the right way to do circuit training. My trainer said to alternate upper body one day and lower body the next. Told me to do ab work every day *sigh*, and said to warm up on the treadmill for only 5-10 minutes first (I was doing 30 minutes). She said after I did my circuit training, I could go back and finish my treadmill, bike etc. Also told me to do 12 reps 3 times and as it got easier increase the weight not the reps. So there you go.
The closer it gets to Christmas the busier I get. I'm determined to get to the gym tomorrow. I'll have to take Friday off but I'll get back on Saturday. Sunday will be a busy day with church then our family and friends gtg at my house. Oh yes, housework can be a work out too!
I hope you have an awesome holiday everyone! Remember, it's not about the food, it's about the family and friends. I'm going to concentrate on visiting and try to stay reasonable with the food.

Thanks on clarifying the routines. I think we can all learn from each other on these things. I am so looking forward to getting my surgery done, so I can start putting on muscles. I have a trainer waiting for me. :)

Hi Mary, I hope you don't mind me gatecrashing your journal, I followed a link from kingkeld looking forward to his op, however selfish me the moment I saw BOXING that did. If you get the chance for boxing, fantastic. I did it for a year, in my fifties and loved it. My favourite was the pads and the small ball that hangs above your head that you have too keep moving with two hands. It is a great and fun way to get fit and an all over wonderful body workout. I would that compared to the gym any day. Our club moved and our coach having, joined the police force had to leave as her shifts made it impossible to continue. Did I say it was all female club. We featured in the virgin train magazine. Reminiscing now so will hunt out pics. The feature had a close up of a beauty in our club with head gear and gloves up at her chin and was entitled "give the girl a ring" COOL I thought. So ENJOY your boxing and circuit. WELL DONE YOU.
