OMG, Saturday was amazing. I have been physically in the dumps most of the week. My hip and lower back has been killing me, and I was so sure that I was just not ever going to be able to run. I couldn't have been more wrong. I got up in the morning and stretched really well...not static stretches, but dynamic stretches sort like in yoga class. Wow. By the time The Race for the Cure started, I felt fantastic. I moved forward in the corrals to get ahead of the walkers, and I'm glad I did. I ran the entire race course, and felt great! The night before I ate a chicken dish that had a small amount of potatoes in it. The morning of the race I ate a quarter of a sweet potato and a whey protein shake made with almond milk. After the race I ate a banana and drank a couple bottles of water. Don't know what it was, but something hit me just right and I felt amazing. Totally different from last week when I could barely lift my feet at the end.
Now I think I'll be able to bump up to 8k for a race in the first week of November!
