We went to dinner tonight at a Mexican restaurant. Have I ever mentioned that Mexican is my favorite? Well, I devoured the chips, salsa, and guacamole!
However, here on FS, there is no food entry for the fried chips that you get in the baskets as these restaurants. I am sure I had many more calories than what I recorded.
Ugh! Belly-ache. And only me to blame, of course!
On another note, my youngest son (age 6) got his heart broken today by a little girl he has had a HUGE "Charlie-Brown" crush on. Sigh. She made fun of him for dropping something in class, which in turn caused my son to cry! :-(
The teacher told me that he moved away from the little girl to cry, because he was so embarrassed. But then he sobbed so hard that his face broke out in a little rash! Poor baby. I wish I could have been there to hug him.
His first heartbreak. Those young crushes will get you every time! ;-)

Oh, those little boys! How are we as mommies going to survive their dating? My 11 year old had a similar experience when he was in kindergarten with a girl he liked. He stayed loyal to her until 5th grade. But now they're in different schools, and he's definitely not into her anymore. He's become much more practical, but he definitely wants a girlfriend! Did you tell him that she probably laughed at him because she likes him too? It's probably true or else she wouldn't have gotten so emotional herself. Well, I hope he gets over the embarrassment. Those sweet little guys! And about the chips, you can afford an indulgence. You've been doing so well!

Awwww TOM is making me over-emotional and I had tears at the story about your son! It's so sweet and sad at the same time. My 3 year old daughter has a crush already you'd swear... Cameron is all she talks about.. she tells me how much she loves him... and his family moved far away and she hasn't seen him in 6 months... still he's all she talks about :(

Debbra, we actually have a book from the library (Love, Splat the Cat) which ironically was perfect for this situation. It's about a female cat who keeps teasing Splat the Cat and it's because she actually likes him. I explained to him that girls are funny at this age! He told me last night though that she is "fired" as his girlfriend. LOL! Vlaunier, that's too bad that your little girl's little crush has moved far away. I'm sure that this crush will be the first in a long, long line. Ah, young love!

Your son sounds practical already, and funny. Good for him! She'll have to change her technique in order to get his attention. Kids are so funny with their intense but new feelings. They're like these bright little rosebuds, just exploding into life! Don't we, as mommies, wish that we could take away any pain and only let them experience the pleasures of life? Oh, well! It's part of growing up, for us too, as mommies.

Oh yes, that is so true. I think my heart will break MUCH harder as a Mom than it did when I was growing up and experiencing these things myself!

My heart still aches when my "baby" (who by the way is 26!!!) has his heart broken!!! Of course, I know he's really not "my baby" anymore ... but he puts up with me, bless his heart!!! What is so wonderful I think is having parents who are there for you ... being loved, accepted, comforted and encouraged to carry on are all so important in life. UGH ... so much deep thought for a SUNDAY!!! Now, onto important matters ... MEXICAN FOOD ... YUM!!!! Worth a little tummy ache I say!!! Having just returned from Mexico I must say I enjoyed every single delectable bite ... the fresh guacamole mixed up at our table, the fresh tortillas, a myriad of salsas, excellente!!!

So, since you have been to Mexico, how does that food even compare to American "mexican" food?? Is there a restaurant in the US that you think comes close? (I love, love, love Mexican food!)

Oh ... I have found many good restaurants over the years for Mexican food ... since many fine folks of Mexican heritage reside here!! They tend not to be the big chains though. I grew up in Southern California ... plenty of good Mexican food there ... homemade tamales to buy at Christmas time, fresh tortillas, taco trucks, okay I am making myself hungry now!!!
