SPIKE WEEKEND TURNED INTO SPIKE WEEK...Hate myself and on a ever low self esteem right now !

Went over to my parents place for Father's day. Stayed there 4 days as a little vacation for myself and kiddo. Overall, very nice time spent with them after a really long time. Only negative was the 6-7K calories I ate everyday. My mom makes awesome food and she wanted to make everything I used to like in my maiden days. She also likes to watch me eat and is not happy unless I lick my plate clean. My dad has been confining himself to home due to a recent operation and I wanted to take him out to places he used to like. So between homemade, chinese, pizzas and icecreams, I had almost no time to stop chewing. ( I might have had a few bites without chewing as well to save time).

How to get back on track...need help guys and suggestions....
Number one on my list is - Do not weigh myself till the next TOM. I might not survive the shock. I feel like I have undone 2 months of good already.

Spiking in the beginning is difficult. I really had a lot of trouble controlling myself, and last week I did as well. It's so hard to resist temptations at times and we all make mistakes. You're going along the right path now, you've realized your error and are correcting it. Weigh yourself, seriously. It will help you realize what happened and how fast it comes off (You'll be back to your old weight probably in a week). It will feel good to get back on track and weighing yourself will help. In regards to eating out - research the menus before you go. I eat chinese 1 time per week usually (steamed rice, steamed veggies, steamed tofu, and steamed chicken). When changing your lifestyle, you're bound to make mistakes and all we can do is brush ourselves off and try again.

Don't worry Ruchi you are not back to square one! So you had a break but this will happen on holidays too. It does not mean you have undone all your good work. You know how to get back on track and you will do it! It might take two weeks or more but you will succeed! What are two extra weeks after being overweight for years? I have not been to my mum's since I started my new way of eating but she sounds exactly like yours. Very tasty food and plenty of it, no chance of saying no. Before I visit her next time I will let her know about my new habits. Good luck, you can do it! Lara :)
