Good Morning Everyone,today has started off very early. I woke up at 3:30 this morning went to the restroom, got back in bed, and OMG it was just so hot (I have had the windows open for a couple of days). So after tossing and turning I got up and went into the living room to lay on the couch. About 45 minutes later my husband gets up for work, so I am still wide awake and hot. Finally I said to myself enough is enough and I turned the air back on. I tell ya trying to say a dollar can really suck at times.

Yesterday, I had a great time with my dad. I left his house and stopped by the store to pick up a few things so I can make some salsa today. Yes, I bought some ice cream but wait, I wanted to try something different, so I picked up some Blue Bunny Star Bar ice cream bars. They are just like Pets Brown mules if you know what they are. They only have 110 calories per bar. So I am hoping that I can be satisfied eating those. It may take a few days to learn to eat just one but it's a start.

Sherrie, I am going to give you the 1-2 punch full of love, until you let that ice cream go, you will always be a slave to it. Take control and replace the ice cream with a glass of water. This way you will be breaking one habit and learning a healthier one. At least think about it. Have a great day!

And if you don't want "plain" water, slice up a lemon and put a slice of lemon in it. Very refreshing.

Oh Sherrie - you poor thing! I DETEST the heat and waking up hot is the worst! Just as a caution - be careful with food today. I've found that on the days I'm really tired due to not sleeping well I wander around sluggish and lethargic and just wanting to munch on unhealthy things all day. The ice cream bars sound tasty! Finding lower calorie options for the things we really love is important IMO. Hope these work for you ;-) And it gave me a smile thinking about you having a great day with your dad!

I haven't gotten them lately - probably just as well because they're loaded with suspicious ingredients - but I used to love Skinny Cow ice cream treats. Can't blame you for turning on the AC. I've been tempted myself. Glad we're cooling off for a while.

Sherrie - have you seen Draglist's recipe for an ice-cream substitute? Uses almond milk, protein powder and frozen fruit - I've tried it, and it tastes great (I add a bit of Stevia to mine to sweeten it up a bit).

Thanks everyone, I have to tell you all something. I go through phases with stuff, whether it be food, music, movies, etc., right now it just happens to be ice cream. Trust me it will not last much longer, I am sure I will move onto something else. I do appreciate all of the great advice that you all give me, and I honestly take it to heart. I really like the taste of water, just sometimes it never crosses my mind. Thanks Vickie, and I did read Draglist's recipe, but I have not tried it yet. I know I am going to have to real soon.

I feel ya on the heat thing. I can't sleep with the air conditioner on cool because it is so noisy, so I put it on fan only but then I wake up roasting in the middle of the night and have to turn on cool for a little bit until I start to fall asleep and then the noise wakes me up again...repeat ad nauseam. :P I like Blue Bunny Sweet Freedom ice creams. I just get the plain vanilla flavor. 90 calories for a half cup (about a scoop) isn't bad at all and it's one of the few artificial sweeteners that doesn't give me migraines.
