The proof is in the pudding. Eating my carbs again - nothing too bad just whole wheat bread, some rice and some binges. Lack of motivation and laziness are my constant companions! After a lifetime of yo-yo weight loss I just get tired of the daily battle and even looking better looses it's ability to drive me to keep going. So at this point I'm trying to psych myself up but all it does is piss me off. Need to figure out a way to get off this roller coaster and just do what I need to do.

I have an article called "Get Off the Diet Roller Coaster" that I've turned to again and again over the past...hmm...25 years? It's really good. I just dug it out again when I read your post. If you'd like to have it, send me a message and we'll figure out how to get it sent. And don't forget... Never, never, never give up! =) However, I don't advocate going on diets and going off them. Been there, done that, too many times, am probably just as much a veteran yo-yo-er as you. I did finally conquer the eating problem, however...just in time to develop a thyroid problem. Can't win! =) But can't worry about it...have to focus on health now.

Thanks Diana. I have hypothyroid too. Doc says I can't use it as an excuse because I'm taking medication. I don't want to make excuses but it is so discouraging to work so hard with little results. I refuse to starve myself like I did in high school & I know I have totally messed up my metabolism but geeeeez. I really have to work out hard to get results of any kind. I will say I do feel more energized when I work out. I tend to cycle out around February & then back in mid to late summer. I just need to figure out how to retrain my brain. Thanks for your words of encouragement.
