Socolova's Journal, 29 July 2014

So I received my new scale that does body fat %, bone mass, water %, etc....it says my BMI is 25.2 and if I use the online BMI calculator it says 29. I have a lot of muscle for a girl and I've been drinking a butt-ton of liquids lately, so I'm going to stick with the scale. That's a pretty significant difference though, we'll have to see how it changes over the course of this BMI challenge. Perhaps I should check out some calipers.....

Nothing too exciting to report otherwise. Work has been hectic since a few of my machines are down, trying to fix those and finish my actual job. Hubster and I are doing the Leinenkugel's Canoes for a Cause canoe trip this weekend down the Chicago River followed by a wedding reception so it should be a good time! Makes the week drag though when you're looking forward to the weekend!!! Oh and last day of my cleanse! Then 14 days of continued exercise and strict dieting, hoping to make 15 lbs down for the entire challenge! I'm over halfway there! Booyah! Happy Tuesday!!!

Chica....day by day, we're getting closer to vacation!!!!! YAY!!!
174.6 lb Lost so far: 10.4 lb.    Still to go: 19.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I LOVE my digital scale because often when I do NOT see a drop in weight I DO see an improvement in the other numbers. I am not sure how precise these constantly shifting numbers are and the fact that they DO shift seems indicative of my the body's rhythm and flow.

Correction. Omit the word "my" in the previous comment.

Yeah, BMI doesn't work very well for fit, athletic people. Arnold at competition weight was considered obese. It's a simple weight to height calculation. Doesn't take even your body type into account. Hang in.

Yeah, I don't know that I believe 25.2% either but I know I'm not almost "obese" like the 29%....but either way, I just want to TRACK the number so in all honesty I guess it doesn't really matter what the number is, just that it goes down ya know? :)

Way to go! Good luck with your canoe trip, sounds like a blast. Good luck also with your cleanse, I know all you effort will show good results. Your remark about calipers reminded me of someone you might want to check out on here if you don't know him already. His name is King Keld, & his is an amazing & motivating success story. He is very much into the BMI scales & recently bought calipers. His posts are always very upbeat & encouraging. He lives in Norway (I think?), & he is currently starting a business to help others gain the success he has had in eating healthy, losing weight & getting physically fit. Just an idea in case you're interested.
