I steamed asparagus this morning and put 2 poached egss on them, and a little salt and pepper! Oh my gosh that was good! And no butter, not anything else! Mmmm..I could have that every morning and be happy!

I love this time of year when I can just go out to my garden and grab almost everything I need for a salad. What better challenge to sign up for than the Salad-A-Day challenge! I've been working really hard on getting at least 64 oz water per day. Doing well so far! I've got to work on making more time for exercise...

Will have to try that when asparagus is available again, and doesn't cost a fortune. My bed is done for the year.

So true, unfortunately. I've always wanted to grow asparagus, and haven't:( I should think about that for next year. My guys don't care for it, so I buy it for myself as a treat!

Sounds good! I just might try that. Got some asparagus in the freezer.

It takes about 3 years to get a bed going. I'm adding a new raised bed one next year and will slowly move the current one, it is getting run over by the raspberries and soil isn't good so it doesn't produce like it should.

I think it would be worth the wait! Raspberries do like to take things over! It has been a wonderful year for raspberries! I worked really hard cleaning up my raspberry patch last year, put them in rows, so I didn't get so scratched up picking them, and you'd never know I did it! I again have one big mass of tall raspberry plants, still producing! My arms are all scratched up, and the ladies herrass me at work! They also cost a fortune at the store! I love picking them and giving them to family and friends! I remember when I was a kid (quite some time ago!) watching my grandmother sprinkle salt on her asparagus beds. Eventually through the years, her beds were run out also. Planting them in a raised bed sounds like a great idea!
