Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 29 July 2014

The good news.. the baby is not 3 foot tall, 30 lbs, with a beard. Instead he.. yes HE I had them triple check.. is only about 6 lbs right now, average height, and no facial hair.. just a full head of hair. He's on target to be somewhere in the 7 lbs just like my previous 2. I'm still convinced he will be born with biceps though so I'm keeping the nickname hulk baby. Or.. I'm becoming wussy in my old age.

Speaking of wussy. They have us walking about a mile from the parking lot to our office now due to construction for the next 4 weeks and it was pouring yesterday. I was soaked by the time I went to have my appointment. Uncomfortable. And well.. just plain grumpy. So when they offered me a letter stating I needed closer parking I jumped at it even though my mind is screaming NO!!! Be active. Take the extra steps. Don't be a wuss! Not my proudest moment.. Even this morning I was thinking I should only use it on crappy days. Then again.. do I want to start having labor pains a mile away from civilization? I'm still wrestling with the idea. The gym is one thing. I can sit down and stop whenever I need to. Walking from a parking lot which sounds easy seems more challenging. My membership is expiring at the gym a week before I'm due too. Is it smart to slow it down even though I'm still screaming no at myself??

I know I have serious mental issues. I had issues when I had little man. Within 2 days I wanted to be back out to the barn but everyone was already doing my chores so there was nothing for me to do. It drove me insane. I didn't get postpartum. I got stir crazy and cranky. It didn't help that we had a trailer park leech and her two spawn living with us at the time. I'm hoping this time will be different. I will have little man with me part time during the week instead of sending him to daycare full time. That and attempting to potty train should keep me busy. I do have a bit of a problem with that plan though.. WHY THE HECK DON"T THEY MAKE A POTTY SEAT THAT LOOKS LIKE A FREAKING TOILET!!?!?!?! Seriously. I've seen lady bugs, frogs, thrones, talking cartoon characters... I just want a mini toilet. teaching your child to pee on a lady bug seems like something that will cause issues later in his life. I played around with the idea of getting him a seat that sits on our toilet but well.. he only wants to go when we're going. My bladder doesn't have that type of patience right now.

I still have the potty from my little guy and it's got tractor stickers on it and looks like a toilet...only problem is getting it too you!!! Walk as much as you can but in the case of work, take the closer parking. Walk at home or chase the little man around!! Take care!

I used to have one that looked like a toilet, back in the 70's when my kids were little. Walking is good, use the option of closer when you need to or inclement weather. Labor and delivery is so much easier if you keep up the exercise. I was the same as you, wanted to get back to normal activities after birth. Actually I ignored them and did what I felt like. They kept me in the hospital extra because I was doing too well, they said I needed rest. Made me mad, I wanted to go home..

Potty training was the hardest part of parenting (so far). It was so frustrating and gross. Ugh! Good luck!

We got the potty seat for the toilet for both our kids and it worked much better than the small potty chairs. Sounds like you're going to have a healthy baby pretty soon. Enjoy the gym time while you can, and park closer, you're almost due for goodness sakes, you're allowed. :)

I keep one of those padded add on seats in my bathroom cabinet just in case someone is here with a little one. Used that with a stool when my grandkids were little. It worked ok.

My daughter's potty looked like a real toilet, but it did sing and compliment her, but as soon as she could make it to the big potty I bought the seat for that and the other one disappeared. Now she uses the regular toilet seat because that is what big girls do.

Exciting times. Glad your still active but pacing yourself. I don't suppose 'he' has a name yet? Don't tell me. Let it all be a surprise.

Love your journals. And yes you are nuts, in the nicest way. I can't imaging having a baby with a 'baby' running around already. So, yes you are nuts. But beautiful with it. Take care of you, rest when you should. You will be back to barn storming soon enough :)

I'd take the short walk this close to birthing; walk in the gym with controlled temps and others around. Be safe. See if they'll give you the short walk after. It's like no one ever realizes how much the bodies been thru giving birth; all the pampering is before. I never had children but I can imagine the after is just as hard as the before.

We potty trained on the big toilet and so just sat them backwards so the won't fall in. I hated washing potty chairs and padded seats so we quit those a few kids ago. Way to keep active even if it's not your idea of a good time. You will be so thankful you did later. Also I don't know what comes with a name but the only boy I know named Logan has quite the temper and is very hard headed and he is only 3.5. Luckily he is very cute though because it helps. Lol! Very excited for you. Just keep huffing and puffing your almost to the finish line!

lol iamachristianjesusfreak. Logan may be a good name if that's the case. All my kids seem to have the red head temper, stubborn as a mule, then cute the next minute so you don't strangle them kind of personalities.
