ChristyLA's Journal, 28 July 2014

I had a fun and relaxing weekend. I really needed that to de-stress from the week. For some reason I wake up early on the weekends and have a harder time getting up during the week. I still got enough sleep though (7 hours), so I'm good.

Saturday was my first day of no nuts, pb, bananas, or drink mixes, and the start of having eggs and oatmeal (separately) for my two morning meals. Sunday began my new lifestyle of one salad a day in the afternoon. If I'm out (not at home) at that time and need to eat something, I'll try to remember to get a salad so that I'll fulfill that goal of mine.

Yesterday I ate 6 small meals and less than 1500 calories for the day. I'm really happy about that. I'm hoping it will help my metabolism, or at least make my body happy. I know I'm happy.

I feel much better cutting out the snacks and eating more nutritious meals instead. My appetite is not raging anymore, and last night was shocking: I was hungry just before bed (midnight) but chose to go to bed instead of eat (mostly because there was nothing good for me to eat at that time of day). I admit that I went to bed hungry, which I do not advocate, but the incredible part was that I was okay being hungry and could fall asleep. Food is not a dire need anymore.

I'm making sure to feed myself regularly the foods that are good for me. I'm hoping I'll see some positive changes in my body size (weight would be nice too) from making these dietary changes. I'm eating about 500 calories less than I was before making these changes, so it would be nice to lose a pound a week. But my body is really stubborn at this point, so we'll see...

I like the affirmation that these are lifestyle changes you are instituting out of care for yourself. Thanks for sharing.

McDonald's has a side salad on their dollar menu. I usually order 2 with the newman's own lite italian dressing totaling 140 calories and it's only 2 bucks! Great value and comfort when I haven't planned properly.

You can do this. Looking forward to see how this is going to work out for you. I'm planning on making a few changes myself . "Marbled fat" (has been on the body longest) is really hard to lose. I am at that point.

You are doing really well. I need to follow your motivation and start doing my entries more often. I'm so slacking.
