NowIunderstand's Journal, 27 July 2014

whoa! I ate too much! This heat drives me batty. I keep looking to eat watermelon. It's the only thing that seems to cool me down, refresh me and in some way appease me. I get hot flashes.

I'm going to have to reign in my eating and start my exercising.

Day 27 of TOM.

Noticed that with the swimming, my posture has improved. Probably due to muscles being solicited in the shoulder blades, pulling me up straighter.

Really need to plan things better, Spending too much time sitting down.

You poor thing! I detest the heat. I completely understand eating whatever you can to help you feel more comfortable. I think the watermelon helps add hydration and it's very cooling to me. Good choice IMO! Glad to hear your feeling results from the swimming! Do you find too that your body just feels more relaxed after a swim?

Luckily, watermelon has little calories so even though you ate 1 kg of it you still only ate 300 cals. I also love to eat it, water with ice cubes could also help you.

You can't go wrong eating watermelon. I've got peaches now and waiting for the cantalope.

Yes. Let's plan. You and I are in the same "boat" and except for the observation about TOM, your journal could be mine. I THINK - since I post my journal EARLY in the morning - I am going to change my journal up a bit where I PLAN AHEAD for the food I am going to eat today instead of relying so much on spur of the moment choices and decisions - then record the food I ate yesterday. Let's use smaller portions, and get more active. Want to? Okay!

Most likely, you have gained water weight. This too shall pass. Don't get discouraged as you are still in the game.

@C67241 / a little play on words there, eh? @Teacher/ yep, let's!!!lol @Snezica/ I'm probably developing muscle carrying the watermelon! @CR /I think eating fruit is blissful, when they are ripe. It's amazing how good they can be, and to know they have few calories, is a bonus. I swear I could live on wine + cheese and fruit! In fact, that's probably what got me to this weight. // @Vickie 5966 - it's the humidity. And I think I am on perimenopause. It seems like my body's internal thermostat is just bouncing like a yo-yo. I'm hot, I'm cold. (the things we take for granted!!!) I find that after swimming my body feels 'fluid/flexible' and I like it like that. It's a nice feeling. It's a feeling of youth recaptured...yeah, that's the way I would describe it. Adios Amigos!

If you're on perimenopause then no wonder you are losing weight slower then expected. Your metabolism got slower unfortunately. The only thing you can do is build muscle and that will help a bit.
