Woop, just when I thought I hadn't been doing well this week, the scale drops over 2 lbs...had to shake the scale a few times before I would believe it.

So, this cooking fresh produce and drinking protein smoothies is working for me...and I feel like I am eating more than ever before. Of course, before, dinner might have been a large bag of chips and coke, lol.

Stevia in my coffee does not work for me. I really can't stand the taste. I'd rather go without coffee, which isn't that difficult since I only drank one a day, maybe every other day. I think I will save the coffee for a treat or try it in a homemade iced mocha.

Any ideas for using up the leftover stevia powder?

I love that you had to shake the scale. Great going! Keep it up. :)

I'm not afraid of a couple of teaspoons of real sugar in my coffee. It's not too many calories and as long as it's only once a day, I'd rather enjoy the real thing. Whenever I want to get rid of a food product, I bring it to work for others to take off my hands.

if you're not happy with the taste, nothing you make with it will be good. you should give it away. i also have sugar in my tea, and i'm not stopping that. it's not that many calories and i'd be lost without it. it's a treasured part of my morning routine.

I tried Stevia for a while too. Better than artificial sweeteners, I suppose, but like you I didn't particularly care for the taste. I'm focussed on losing weight right now but eventually I hope to reduce my sugar intake even more.

Totally agree with Gnewfry here - if you don't like it in coffee, chances are you won't like it in anything. One last ditch thought to try though - get a small cup of plain unsweetened yogurt and try a bit in that. I'm lucky in that Stevia and Splenda tasted fine to me. I never did adjust to the variety of earlier ones though. One last thought on the Stevia though.... perhaps go off coffee for a few weeks then try the stevia again. Perhaps your tastes will have lost their "memory" for either sugar OR stevia and it will seem OK to you. Most important though, congrats on the 2.4!!!!

Thanks for the feedback and congratulations everyone!! I almost feel like I can do this thing! :-) I tried the Stevia in a coffee shop coffee last night and actually poured the coffee out...I'm too cheap to do that unless it tasted really bad! So I think I will go off coffee for the rest of the NO SUGAR CHALLENGE and give it one more try after that, like Vickie 5966 suggested. If it still tastes gross I'll find someone to give it away to and return to regular sugar in my coffee. It is a treat and part of my morning ritual, so I think I'll be OK. Of course, if I start losing weight like crazy over the next week, maybe I'll just quit coffee for good!

Chris, one of my winter evening rituals is a cup of tea and a serving of cookies. I have not given that up and don't intend to! I think the things that nourish our souls are as important as the things that nourish our bodies. I do have to say though, my hat is off to any person who can give up coffee! For me, that would be like giving up breathing! I considered a diet once that forbid coffee. Didn't actually go thru with it. My husband threatened to leave if I wasn't drinking my coffee. Appears I'm not a lovely person without my caffeine ;-)

Hahaha, I do consider myself lucky not to love the taste of coffee. I really only like it with lots of cream and sugar. Giving up chips is a lot harder ! It's been a challenge finding replacements for my salty, sweet and crunchy cravings.

;-) Chips are husband's weakness. I can honestly say he buys a bag every couple weeks and I never touch them! Speaking of chips, have you looked at the recipe posted here recently for Zucchini chips? I remember who posted it but her name escapes me. If you haven't seen it let me know and I'll repost the link. The picture looked amazing!

Mmm...zucchini chips, sounds interesting. I have heard of kale chips, but I can't get decent kale in our supermarket. There is a ton of zucchini coming in, so that sounds like an excellent idea. I found a recipe in the recipe section for the zucchini chips, hopefully the one you remember. Thanks!!

Chris and all ... Zucchini Chips - go to http://www.tablefortwoblog.com/ and search for chips. Should be the top left photo. I'd post the whole link but FS seems to truncate links so you might have a hard time finding it. Anyhow, they look amazing! When it cools down enough to have the oven on for a while, I'm making these!

Oh, and kindly ignore all the other decadent photos and recipes she has on her site!

Lol, will TRY to ignore them. Those zucchini chips look delicious and are different than the other recipe I found. I bet they would taste delicious with homemade hummus...mmmm...now, I wonder if I can slice them thin enough with my knife...?
