Down approximately 6 lbs. this week. I have to continually remind myself that all calories are not created equally. Excess carbohydrates are easily broken down into glucose and excess quickly stored as fat. Fats and proteins require the expenditure of extra metabolic energy to convert to glucose, the bodies primary fuel. I know if I keep the carbs in check and stay within my daily calorie allocation my weight will continue to drop. This week I will focus on increasing the percentage of protein in my diet while minimizing the carb intake.
