Wed: Zumba and 1 mile leisure walk
Thurs: 5.8 mile run a.m.

Plan:

Thursday: Bike after work and lift weights.

Friday: run in the a.m. Hit the lake in the evening for a minimum of 30 minutes. Shoot for three laps across the cove and back. Work on front crawl, pace and breathing.

Saturday: Work in warehouse in a.m. Then take 7 mile Kayak trip. Will be out of town and will have to eat out. Really hope to figure out someplace to eat that won't trigger a feeding frenzy. Saturday night---movie & relax maybe?

Sunday: Long run (14+, but haven't figured out distance for certain) Rain is expected. Hope it only sprinkles or lightly rains. Not wanting to chafe secondary to a downpour.

Sugar intake remains in check. Have consumed no junk food, only intake has been sugars naturally occurring in fruits and vegetables along with minimal sugar from salad dressing and salsa. I know I could use just evoo, but I want some flavoring in my dressing.

Two nights in a row eating Mexican for dinner. Why not? LOL.

I'd like to see a higher fiber intake but I'm struggling to hit every macro perfectly.

Physically: Still struggling with feeling tired, low heart rate on workouts and wanting to take a nap between 2pm and 3pm daily. Maybe I'm just getting old. I've also not consumed any caffeine in the last week---all water. May feel a little more energized if I incorporate a cup of tea at some point.

You had me right up to 'no caffeine..' I'd be comatose if someone took mine away.

I've never been a coffee drinker and rarely drink tea. With all of the training, I do feel comatose by mid-afternoon.

You're doing super! I hope you're giving yourself a lot of credit for your clean eating and regular workouts. Keep up the great work! Green tea is the best. Mexican sounds good. I splurged and has quesadillas last weekend :O That reminds me - I haven't had taco salad in a while. Yum. Isn't a low heart rate good?

Low heart rate is good, but it also means that I don't burn as many calories in workouts unfortunately.

Oh. It might also be why you're tired. Do you want it higher? How would that be done?

Moving faster should raise it, but I am struggling with muscle fatigue while running/biking well before I get higher heart rate. Otherwise, the only way I am aware of to increase it would be to take something like a prescribed amphetamine, which is something I am definitely not interested in. I just need to work on striking a better balance I think and perhaps pushing myself more through my workouts.

You can do it :) Do you have any idea why you're tired? Maybe fixing that would help you to put more effort into your workouts :)

I wish I did. :) I've been seeking that answer since I went to my physician in January. She kinda just shrugged it off as *marathon training*. I'm not on the same schedule as my husband right now. So I do know that I am probably not getting in consistent sleep at night. He wakes me up coming in and out of the room on nights he isn't working. I wake up several times during the night on my own anyway. I don't snore or have sleep apnea or anything. I might just be spreading myself a bit thin too.

I'm no doctor, and not very familiar with this illness, but it might be Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Have you looked into that? Otherwise, good sleep and taking time to relax a bit each day is good for feeling rested. Do you have a hobby that you really love and partake in every day? That's what makes me energized and motivated all day long.
