I'm feeling like I'm in the "zone" as I call it! I'm being very diligent and it's paying off. I'm learning what percentages of carbs, proteins and fats works best me. I have been actually looking forward to my daily exercise. Now that's a big deal! I've always known I needed to get up and get moving, but it always seemed so overwhelming that I had to get to the gym and work out with all the "in shape" people. Argh! So I fixed that, I've taken up walking up on the nearby mountain roads and trails every day. Why did I ever think I needed to go to the gym, I'm breathing in fresh air and it's such a beautiful walk/hike. I know there will be a time I will use the fitness gym, but for now I feel I've found a great alternative.

I just got back from a great walk/hike with my husband. It was about a mile, but a lot of it was up hill. It actually felt good to work hard at it. I did have a bit of a tough afternoon. I didn't eat enough protein at lunch, and I ended up snitching little snacks here and there all afternoon. I think I will try to supplement my lunch with protein powder tomorrow and see if that helps. Any suggestions? I've been keeping track of my proteins, carbs, and fat percentages, and it helped show me where I can improve. I always thought I ate plenty of protein, but so far, I always come up short. Well anyways, tomorrow will be a new day! cya!

Protein powder, canned tuna (albacore in water has more omega 3's), cottage cheese, or greek yogurt are some quick foods that are high in protein. I usually start my day with a protein shake including almond milk, protein powder, greek yogurt, chia/flax seeds, blueberries, spinach, and unsweetened cocoa powder...I can get close to 50 grams protein in 300 to 400 calories plus over half a day's worth of fiber.
