Following up on my A/C which wasn't working a couple days ago - when I go home from work and turned it back on, PRESTO - it worked just fine. So it must have been some kind of issue with a sensor, relay, or who knows what. At least the major components seem ok - I'm just glad it's working. The unit is nearly 30 years old, like an old Timex watch that just keeps ticking.

My wife's knee replacement surgery went well yesterday, doctor says the knee was in worse shape than x-rays showed, bone on bone. She did good after surgery until around 5pm last night when the nerve block was wearing off. Had an allergic reaction to Dilaudid and was itching all over, they wouldn't give her Benadryl without doctor approval and the doctor wasn't calling them back. Besides making her itch the Dialudid wasn't taking care of her pain sufficiently, when I left to go home last night she was pretty miserable. I talked to her this morning, overnight they got her on a couple different pain medications and now it's under control thank goodness. She even got some sleep last night. Physical therapy starts today at 11:00 for the first session, I'll be leaving work early so I can be there for the afternoon session, same drill tomorrow, hopefully she'll be able to come home tomorrow evening. I'll be off work for the next couple of weeks after as she recovers.

Eating yesterday was a little challenging being at the hospital all day, I did OK calorie wise and lost a half pound. Today and tomorrow should be easier since I can do breakfast and lunch before I get to the hospital.

Hope everyone has a great day, let's do the best we can with what's in our control to make it that way.

Tell her to follow through with the PT even as painful as it is, I have had two partials and two complete knee replacements still a little pain but my srength and mobility is very good it took a year after the last surgery when they removed the broken knee cap to get back up to speed.

Yay re the A/C! At least it gives you time to start saving for when it does really go out. Glad you're wife's surgery went well, but sorry about the problems after. Hope she continues to improve. Good job with the eating - hope you have a great day as well!

It's very nice of you to take such good care for your wife. Be prepared, she will be cranky a lot because of the pain, which is understandable.

You're a good hubs! Hoping PT goes well for her today. Most PTs are TREMENDOUS people - they're going to work on getting her mobile and their goal isn't to cause her pain. With such a supportive spouse, she's gonna be fine ;-) And yes, eating in a hospital is QUITE a challenge. Glad to hear the AC has righted itself.

Consider getting a recumbent bike. Excellent for PT. And also for exercising to lose weight.

Thanks for the update about your wife. Glad she came through surgery okay and that you persevered with the hospital food options. Thank you, also, for the kind words on my journal post today. You really helped me understand the "guy" perspective. Happy Wednesday!
