sdowdyo's Journal, 24 April 2014

Well. I finally started moving my big a**. I work at a desk job and usually only get up for bathroom breaks and lunch breaks. I have become a G-I-A-N-T SLUG!

I started walked at work yesterday and I went out again today. The weather is nice is Georgia right now, but soon it will be too bleeping hot to walk and then come back in the office and work. I will run folks out of the office.

We do have a small gym on campus with treadmills, etc. so I may join (just $25 a year) and walk there in the AC. I'm trying not to beat myself up. I hate to start somewhere. I walked 30 minutes yesterday and 30 today.

Wish me luck!

The first step is always the hardest, walking thirty minutes a day is a great place to start. I also think that gym membership is a great value, I would definitely jump on it, I pay that monthly! If you could do it yesterday and tomorrow then there is no reason you cant tomorrow and the day after. Good luck Sharon :-)

Hey Sharon in Georgia. I am Cathy in Florida....I too have a desk job. Good luck with your walking! My job has a walking contest every quarter....I just joined last quater and keep my pedometer in my pocket. It does keep me motivated as I was surprised how much I DON'T walk!
