I have been struggling with the same thoughts. I want to lose it all FAST even though it took 17 years to put it on. Just remember that healthy, permanent weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week, so they say.

It's taken me a year to lose 55 lbs., but the way I see it is that I'm 55 lbs. lighter than I was last year. Slow or fast, as long as you are losing, keep up the good work!

Have other fitness goals, that don't involve your scale. Take measurements so that you really notice the changes in your body. Pick a goal concerning endurance, flexability, weight lifting- anything so that you see progress. And remember that 1-2 pounds really does add up!!

Actually losing so much in a year is admirable! 55 pounds is a LOT of weight. i will be delirious if if I lose anywhere that much in a year. And your skin probably is shrinking with you and you are healthy. Our inner "drummer" needs to be our personal cheerleader! good for you be so proud!

I am wondering if we mostly here from the amazing weight loss examples and if most people do lose one or two pounds a week. I have adjusted my expectations and am happy to lose a pound a week. I have lost at least a dress size so i have to keep telling myself, "It is working".
