I'm back after quite a travel day & first day home, but no worse for the wear, happy to be home & feeling good about having gone to help my Mom & how she's progressing.
My first free upgrade to first class was nice even on a short 2 hour flight. I got to board early, had drinks at my disposal (but, while others did, I had no interest in alcohol midday) & extra seating room:), but the pleasure was soon over as when we landed on time, I found I had an email from Delta that my luggage had not traveled with me… even though I had gotten to the airport & checked in about 2 hours early! So, I had to go file a missing bag report, where the next battle began as the rep there said that only the phone rep could put a rush delivery on it, but when we left & I later phoned for an update, the phone rep said no the airport rep need to do so! They had found my bag and it was set to go on the next flight out to arrive LGA at 6 pm, which it did. Then, the delivery of it was the next hassle to deal with it, so more phone calls & emails. It finally arrived about noon yesterday, which it my opinion and as I expressed to multiple reps was completely unacceptable as it was 18 hours after its arrival at LGA even though I only live a little over 1 hour from the airport.
I did my best, breathed through the frustration, and while I did overeat some on Sunday, I stayed my course gluten, lactose & added sugar free. So, more progress there upon leaving my Mom, transitioning home & with the added stress of lost luggage. So, I'm feeling good that I'm again making progress, although still not as close to perfection as I may like, but steps in the right direction closer again & building new healthier habits to replace those less so.
Mom continues to sound better on the phone. I'm waiting to hear from her social worker as to the timing of when she can move back to hr own apartment -- she's so eager to. We'll also have to sort out if/what added care she'll need.
I'm off to workout this morning, then up to work after. I was stressing yesterday too about all the book work I am behind on & the taxes and reports that I need to complete by 4/30. But I'm a week away and will take it a day or a report or a return at a time. So, feeling calmer there too.
Again, I have to thank you all so very, very much for all the amazing love, support & concern shown me while I was away & dealing with my Mom and her health issues. Having you al was my salvation, and your love & support means more than I could ever say! You are an amazing group, and I am so blessed to have you each in my life!
So, now I'll continue with my blessings & start my day in prayer --
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.
And I'll remind myself that for this one day and through each one meal, moment, bite, thought & emotion, I'll pray, breathe, journal, log & express my way. I'm so very grateful for each of wonderful you, my family & IRL friends, that Mom continues to improve, sunshine & warmer temps, hot bulletproof coffee, and having the health & wealth to live this life I love! xoxox
