I'm back home! Oh, I missed it so much...

Yesterday as soon as I arrived, I unpacked and went straight to bed. I slept aaaall the way through this morning 8am, which means that I slept around 15 hrs, if not a bit more. Wow! I can really be lazy, and I enjoy it so much lol.

The only reason why I got awake is because I was starving; so I had a totally tasty and healthy breakfast, and I measured and recorded everything accurately. Guys! don't you love that feeling of being in control? I really missed it so much. I'm back in bed now, still suffering from jetlag; but that will not stop me from exercising later on. My May goal depends on exercising hard.

On the negative side, my scale is not working anymore. I don't know what I did, it was all ok during my trip. When I found that out this morning, I was going totally crazy! I REALLY need the scale this month! I feel desperate because now I can 'only' rely in my clothes. So my task of today is to make it work again. Not sure how I will do that, though.

Happy to be back and be able to read you buddies again. I missed you!

God. I was able to find a battery for my scale, so I weighed in and I almost cried. That is a BIG gain! :S I should have stayed off the scale for another week or so... In all fairness I weighed in after a -rather heavy- breakfast, so I hope those 2 kg. up that I saw are just that. I will find out tomorrow morning, but I'm already sad to think that I could have gained that much during my trip. I put so much effort trying to eat as best as I could! I even declined several invites for drinking beer (<3), this cannot be. Let's see tomorrow. If this was indeed a gain, my May challenge will be even more challening - ha. I might need to readjust my goal, which I really, really don't want to do, but I will need to be realistic. :(

Thank you Chickturu! I definitely love that feeling of being in control! A broken scale definitely does not help that feeling when it comes to controlling your diet though so I'm glad your scale is again operational! Don't worry too much about one single reading. It may be a passing thing. I also had a bad result and, the next day, it was completely different. Be persistent and patient and good results will definitely come! Don't worry! :) A big part of this weight reading you got is definitely due to your breakfast. To avoid this, you should always weigh yourself right after waking up, before eating or drinking and after doing to the bathroom. The rest of that weight may be just normal water and bowel contents fluctuations ! ;) Regardless of that, be persistent, and patient, and you will definitely be going in the right direction! :)

I'm glad you made it home okay! I'd weigh again tomorrow before you've eaten and see what it says. If you're up, then you know where you're starting from. It's not the end of the world and we're all here to cheer you on as you move forward. Get some rest and start fresh tomorrow. :)

I find that being away from home is always difficult. I discovered it is not the amount of food you eat, although we all tend to eat more when away, but more the different food. At home we are in full control as to what hits our waistband but in an hotel we eat what is on the menu making the best of a bad job. I also found that if I have put weight on when away from home it comes off very quickly once I am home and settled in my normal routine. I feel sure you will find the same and I look forward to hearing you are back in full control.

Thanks guys, I'm so happy to read you again :) Yes, you were right, it was the breakfast, I'm happy again hehe... And Bwy, that is completely true, it is not so much about the food amount, but more of the fact that you cannot control the ingredients, the choices, etc. Which is why I missed home so much.
