Attempting to do better with water. I read that the optimal amount of water needed for a person's weight is 1/2 oz per pound of body weight. Wow! For me that would be just shy of 11 8 oz. glasses of water. I have been feeling good about 7 glasses of water because that is an increase for me. Now I know that the feelings I have identified as hunger may have really been thirst. Also my body has been working hard to eliminate toxins with a less than optimal flow of fluid. I will work on improving that. Happy days to all FS buddies and supporters. J

Meh! Most studies show 6 to 8 cups is great for the majority of people. If you exercise a lot, you may need more. If it's summer and your sweating, you may need more. You also get water from foods you eat. So if you are thirsty, drink. But don't force tons down if you don't really want too.

Perhaps I was dehydrated every day. Since I started tracking how much water I drink for a few of my challenges at FS, I am more vigilant about getting my 8 cups. Some days I have been more thirsty and it might be 10 - 12 cups. J, good luck with your walking. Hope your days are happy and sunny!

I drink 5-6 bottles of 17oz bottles (refilled) a day. I started at 4 and it was very hard to down it all. Now if I don't drink at least 5, I feel dehydrated. And there are days that I can drink as many as 8-10 bottles. I let my body tell me but now never under 5. I am a bit odd, I have times, set. For example 1 bottle before I leave for work. 2nd bottle before lunch, 3rd bottle before 3:00, etc. Sometimes I drink more I just make sure I always get the bottle in by my picked time so I ensue I get all of them in.
