To ALL FitBit Users:

I just got my Fitbit and not sure which apps to use.. I'm used to FatSecret but have been adding my food items into Fitbit app too. What's the best to use and how do you manage the info? Any tips and tricks would help!
131.0 lb Lost so far: 7.0 lb.    Still to go: 13.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I don't add my fitbit numbers here. I keep track of them on the fitbit dashboard and on mapmyrun (I'm a distance runner, so I need to keep track of both.) I call my fitbit calories BONUS CALORIES. It keeps me from a false sense of accomplishment here, since the numbers for calorie burn here seem to be pretty high. Love my fitbit for motivation, though!!

Be careful with FitBit! My coworker used it and her wrist turned into a bruise-like color after a while. She joined a class-action lawsuit since it's happening to a lot of people. Watch out!!

I do the opposite, I list it here but not on Fitbit. I also track my Points on Weight Watchers, so I'm souble tracking. I just use my Flex to register steps and my sleep. I think the Flex is a little too sensitive.

shmiller how do you determine the bonus calories? Do you just list it as one of the activities?

erwinwarrior83 I actually saw that I had few steps during the night and it kinda freaked me out lol I better not be walking in my sleep lol

I am very pleased with the way my diet has been going. I have been on my diet for 67 days and have lost 30 pounds so far. I still have 170 pounds to go, but I am finally starting to get the hang of this. I just stay under my RDI and I can still have certain foods that might seem bad, but I don't go over 2800 calories a day. My RDI said I could have 3400 calories daily, but that is way to high I think. Even though I am six foot tall and am 35 years old and was weighing 420 pounds, but now down to 390! I am just glad to be out of the four hundred range! I am very obese and I just can't wait for people not to remember me as that big fat guy! Some people do not even realize what they are saying but I can't blame them, how else do you describe a person when you mention someone? If there is a pretty blonde girl, then that is what we say is you know that real pretty blonde girl. I just do not want to be described as that real big/fat guy, even though it is true but soon one day I shall take that real big/fat guy description out of my identity once and for all! WTG, Adam! Elvirka, let us know how you like the FitBit... I really wish these things would interface with more than just MyFitnessPal or whatever. How about connecting up to FS!!! :D Sorry, MFP, you're probably fine and all that, but the people here ROCK! Anyway, Elvirka, I hope it goes great with the Fitbit!
