SherrieC's Journal, 02 April 2014

Good Morning All, this journal is going to be a rant so to speak, but I will do a real journal later on.
This morning I am watching TV and thinking about yesterdays post. In all fairness I understand and respect everyone's opinions and thoughts. I do realize that it is up to me to make my own opinions and conclusions, but that will never stop me from asking for advice or opinions from others.

I may not be the brightest crayon in the box, and I do spell things incorrectly, and my memory (that really sucks) well that's a different story
Anyway, Just so you know I am Not downing myself at all just a few facts. So if you are reading this then I want to Thank You. I hope you all have a great day !!!

We should all feel free to express our thoughts freely. Like you - I appreciate feedback - I do! But at the same time - my journal entries are more for me - to express my thoughts. It is a way to "voice" ideas and work things out in our heads. I always feel better about things after I put them down on paper/computer. Have a great day!!! ;-)

I certainly hope my comment on your post yesterday wasn't the cause of your "rant" today. My thinking it may have been is because your words above, "it is up to me to make my own opinions & conclusions",are similar to the words in my comment on yesterdays post"the final answer,is your decision." If that is the cause of your posting this morning,*please* accept my apologies. In *no* way did I mean to offend you, or anyone. I just thought, WOW look at all the *differing* comments on her question.Bananas are either "good" or "bad" depending on an individuals taste. But I realize you weren't asking in regards to taste but rather for you in meeting your health goals. No one knows what those are or can explain them better than you. Maybe others commenting are aware of your goals but I am not. If they are, then they didn't agree with one another on the subject. Which *could* be because of their own individual goals. I was in *no* way calling you stupid-"not the brightest crayon in the box" or implying that you shouldn't "ask for advice or opinions from others". In fact,I mentioned that "all of us are here to help". My asking what info have you found on the subject was just that,a question to *you* . Before attempting to give out opinions, answers or advice, I certainly appreciate it when the one I'm asking trys to understand what I'm talking about BEFORE they try to help. Where would we be if all the doctors in this world didn't ask us questions but instead just expected us to take their advice ?! (I am *not* a doctor nor am I *claiming* to be one--it's only an illustration.) Anyway, now I'm "ranting". Please accept my apology if indeed my comment offended you. Again that was not my intent. In the future,in reply to your posts, I will make self explanatory comments.... or not comment at all. I certainly should be able to "feel free to voice my thoughts " as well. I will have a great day & my wish is that you will also. :D

P.S. ....as it *is* your journal,I'll let you decide if you want me to reply to your posts.

WOW okay, You in no way offended me by your opinion yesterday. I guess I am a little sensitive natured, but since it is brought back out here I am going to say that to me it came across kind of scolding. Like you said you are absolutely entitled to voice your own opinion. The comment "not the brightest crayon in the box" was and is a figure of speech. I certainly will continue supporting, and helping in anyway I can to whom ever wants to accept it.

Just like email or posting on Facebook, our tone/emotion doesn't carry with the message. You cant make people take your words the way you want them in written text even in a novel. One person's tragedy is another's joy.

I agree with KRIS,it is difficult to convey tone/emotion in writing. As for *me* posting comments on your journal,I will refrain after this from doing so. This morning you sent me a PM which was posted at 7:55 but for some reason I wasn't notified & didn't read it until 12:52. Your stated reason for sending me a PM was because of my comments to your post yesterday which you described as "chastising" & "harshly",(so apparently I did offend you,as I had thought, given your words in your morning journal-which was posted before you wrote me privately.)However, after your PM you went back to your journal & denied any offense to what I said, claimed yourself" a little sensitive in natured". THEN you responded to my reply to your PM saying:"we're good." ......*I* am not good with with double-talk.....as I will not post on your journal, please do not post on mine.

You know what, myawethinTICself I have tried to be polite, respectful, open minded, but if you want to call it double-talk then so be it I am done with this crap, you really should have kept this in the PM and not drag it out here like a child would do. Can I help what time the computer puts NO, I expressed my feelings to you and then tried to get past everything, but instead you continue talking to me as if I were a child. Well guess what I am Not your child so back off.

For the record, I have blood sugar issues. I can tell pretty quick if something is gonna cause the spike and crash. (I hate that). Anyway, I can eat a banana just fine without problems if that helps. :)
02 Apr 14 by member: notjune1
It does Notjune1, I have decided to eat bananas most days, whenever the mood strikes really. You hear so much controversy on it and I was just looking to get some input, but I now know to never ask anything like that again. lol

SherrieC, IMO feel free to ask whatever you want WHENever you want. My own opinion is that bananas are fine. They're a good source of nutrients AND they're portable! Regarding the bananas, I think a lot of the good/bad has to do with various diets. Some diets strictly forbid certain foods. Those diets aren't for me ;-) Personally, I'm trying to go with an attitude that no food is bad - just that some I have to limit more than others. My personal experience (you might be different) is that if I forbid myself something, eventually I'll HAVE to have it and will sit down and eat 5 times the amount I normally would.

Vickie, that sounds just like me. Thanks for making me feel like I am not alone. I agree with you 100%

Yea..those exclusionary diets are not sustainable in my humble opinion....this is supposed to be a long term solution for me, and telling me I cant have something for the rest of my life is not happening! LOL

Amen Girl !!!! Just smaller portions for me, plus exercise too
02 Apr 14 by member: SherrieC
Seconding Sherrie's amen! Smaller portions, better overall choices and it's a way I'm willing to eat for the rest of my life.

Hey Sherrie, I have only just joined here today and I would wish everyone luck on their journey. It takes a lot of willpower and a good while to retrain our brains out of all the lovely fat laden foods we all love, and to get onto a healthy track for life. we can all have off days x and when you have those off days, this is exactly the place you should be coming to rather than a biscuit tin (well thats where I always used to go) I cant go there after today!
