Feretina's Journal, 29 January 2014

I went to the doctor for knee pain. Next thing I knew, I was getting x-rays and scheduling appt with orthopedic specialist. I need low impact exercises instead of bone shaking ones! Any ideas would be appreciated!

Swimming is low impact. There are dvds that focus on the upper body. You might ask the doctor for suggestions. There is the recumbent bike, but it depends on your knee. There is much less pressure on it than the other kind of bike. Look up reviews of "Walk Away The Pounds" dvds on Amazon. I know they are low impact, but not sure how much pressure is put on knees. You can always march in place gently. But they might work.

Sometime back I had to go in for knee therapy & was given resistance bands to work with along with specified exercises. Maybe the doc can advise?

I strongly recommend Russain Kettlebell training (www.dragondoor.com to find more information). It's zero impact, but you'll burn calories like crazy! If you have any questions, let me know. We aren't 25 anymore and can't do the things we use too..lol. Regards, Scott
