The only way you fail is to give up. So what if it takes you 5 years... time will still pass. If you "give up" time will pass and you will just be in a worse situation.

You are just so right I know. I won't give up just feel like it. They changed my thyroid meds again and every time they do it throws me for a loop. But this week i was just a pig.

Yea, giving up is not an option. This is a life long journey. Make small changes you can live with. It's about progress not perfection. Thyroid problems can make weight loss more difficult but not impossible. If you can afford it, a visit to a nutritionist who specializes in helping people with thyroid problems lose weight might really help. If not, start reading and googling to see what types of foods can help you lose. For most, Protein and high fiber foods help us lose fat and keep us satiated longer. Focus lean protein, lean dairy, fruits and veggies. Start cutting down on processed foods (tons of sodium). A book that helps us deal with the psychological aspects of weight loss "Becks Diet Solution". Look it up on amazon.com or try to get it from the library. It might help. Find ways of making the foods you love lighter. Some great sites: Cookinglight.com, Skinnytaste.com, Slenderkitchen.com, Skinnykitchen.com and Emilybites.com Make an inspiration board out of cork board. Put things that might inspire you to lose weight on it (recipes, quotes, pictures, etc.) Put the scale in front of the fridge. Make yourself step on it before you eat something. Get some fitness magazines and read them for inspiration. Try a new diet plan. I do WW but with lower carb because it helps me lose better. Partner up wit someone and help each other. Get a food scale, measuring cups and spoons. Learn what portion sizes really look like. Get a pedometer and aim for 10,000 steps a day. Make a home gym with a workout dvd, a mat and some light hand weights. Take a new class you have always wanted to try. Don't worry if you can't make it through, it takes time to build endurance. Make one change at a time. It doesn't matter how long it takes, what matters is you will eventually get there. You CAN do this!
