So I am down 21 pounds. It is nice to see all my numbers declining. This is getting interesting. I have an out to eat victory to share. I think it just shows (at least to me) how differently I am thinking about things. So. My hubby said although he loves our "go to" dinner he feels he needs a little more variety. So, we decided last Saturday night to go out to eat. We love this place. On Saturday nights they have a special: All you can eat salad and pasta, plus an entree of your choice and for dessert ... wait for it ... make your own sundae's! Yikes! So boop-beep-boop-beep-beep my mind starts ticking: yes to this, no to that, what about this, substitute that...so, I decided to skip the pasta station altogether - dang! I loaded up on as many leafy greens as were at the salad bar (and was careful - I have been burned at the salad bar before. There are all kinds of calorie bombs in there, unless you are careful. I loaded up with veggies and a fair dollup of fat free italian dressing. The entree comes with a starch. I skipped the starch and had two helpings instead of veggies and a chicken entree. I had unsweetened ice tea and a water with lemon. I ate slow and enjoyed every bite. I felt full and happy as I watched (yes, I only watched) hubby have a sundae for the both of us. Hubby said he felt bad eating this in front of me. I told him honestly that although everything looked and smelled great, allowing myself to indulge in whatever my heart desired had got me into this trouble in the first place. I reasoned, I will have pasta again, in healthy amounts, when I am at a maintenance stage - just not now. I am proud of the changes I have made and my weight loss has really started to show. This good feeling has lasted way longer than the momentary satisfaction of that ice cream.

I don't know..just sayin'
