Heck yeah!

What a great weekend!

Friday Night out with Wife, Saturday at home doing nothing-at-all, and a ROCKIN' Sunday with Burnin' Live!

I got to test out my new bass gear, and it absolutely ROCKS!

I bought a new bass cabinet for my amp, so I have two. They're not both gonna be playing every time we practice - they're about 90 lbs each and borderline sonically overkill - but I like the thought of having a "full set" at my disposal, and knowing that I have what I need when it's gigging time, both for The Black Peanut and Burnin' Live.

This gives me the "monster" bass sound I am looking for, deep and powerful, with plenty of detail too, and I just love it. I see that the new cabinet (the one that say TC Electronic - you can see a little of the logo) is the sound I like, more than the old one, and I will probably end up owning one more of these babies, but for now this is PLENTY good. No real rush to get the 2nd one, other than that I'll start saving up for it. They're about $1,000 each, so it's not something I'll just buy a handful of.

This is the new gear, along with the "new me":

I like the fact that I'm starting to see a physical muscle "bulking up" around my arms and shoulders, though I also still see some fat that needs to go. :)

Yesterday, I did good. I had the munchies bad - an often occuring after-effect of Indulgence Day - but I managed to keep it reasonably at bay, and sticking to my RDI. It helps to go play music and do things away from foods.

We were trying out a new singer, and I think he's a keeper. He's a young dude, 23, and full of energy. He sings in key, and likes the style. He came well prepared, and took the challenge like a man. I like it. We all agreed to definitely play again Sunday with him, and just take it from there.

It's nice to now have a quartet, and actually be able to do proper versions of the songs - WITH VOCALS! lol.

On top of this, the guy is a semi-multi-talent. He can play some keyboards and piano, guitar, drums... so we can have him fill in things here and there. Being just guitar, bass and drums can be limiting now and then, so it's nice to know that we can throw in some extra stuff if/when needed, further down the road.

Today is Monday. Quite a few challenges at work, I think, and of course I'm teaching weight loss after. I have had a few more interested people contact me, and I am hoping to start a couple up today. I already have two people ready to start next month too. Things are slowly starting to show a pattern. Not bad. Now I just need like 35 more, and I can starting doing GOOD business! LOL.

Of course, Monday is also gym day. Daughter and I are going this morning, and I'm looking forward to it. It's gonna hurt though. Lugging the bass gear around quite a bit yesterday kinda took its toll on my arms. Again, these are about 90 lbs and don't just move without putting some effort into it. On top of that, the new cabinet doesn't have wheels (I'll probably need to fix that!), so it'll have to be carried when I need to reposition it.

I did also buy a cart that I can use for moving all this gear. It's great - it's made to carry heavy loads - up to 500 lbs - and really something I need for this. It'll make me able to move things further distances both in rehearsal and when playing live.

So, how's the weight today? It's pretty good, thank you.

I am today at 90 kilos. That's 1.1 kilo down since yesterday - and I thought I ate a lot. To be honest, I am kind of doubting that number. I keep thinking that it's probably not right, and that it's gotta be 91.0. I dunno. I simply don't really remember, but I do remember thinking I was really close to being "under 90". Hmmmm.... Maybe I should just register it at 91 today and take the potential added drop tomorrow, just to not disappoint myself. Does it matter?

I'll just go with 91. It's still a 100 gram drop, which is perfectly fine for a Monday morning. Many Mondays, I'm UP in weight after Indulgence Day Saturday. NO biggie.

Today, I'm thankful for:
