Obviously today was not a good Atkins day... ate over 100g carbs. It was my nephew's birthday party (spaghetti and ice cream sundaes were his choice). Now I KNOW that I could have sat out and ate a salad instead, but I do believe in allowing cheats for specific meals, and this is one. This may have set me back a few days, but I don't regret it :) Just means I have to be even more committed for the next couple weeks. I am allowing my next "cheat" on Valentines Day (or whatever day my hubby and I are able to celebrate together- it will likely be pizza and beer). Having something to look forward to makes it easier for me to stick with it otherwise. I don't feel as though I will *never* be able to eat my favorite foods again, just need to make them into special treats for special occasions!

I agree...we do need to allow ourselves to "cheat" once in while for special occasions. If not, we'll feel deprived and likely end up giving up.:)
