Today marks one week without my addiction of choice, Mountain Dew. I never thought I’d be able to give the stuff up. It hasn’t been easy, and lord knows I have certainly been tempted but I am amazed that I have been able to stay away.

I know exactly how you feel. I gave up pop cold turkey. It wasn't as bad as bad as I thought it was going to be. But every now and then I treat myself to a diet pop, but not often.

My addiction was Coke. I drank it all day long. It has been 15 days since I have had a real Coke. But it had to go. I gave it up cold turkey too. I don't really care for any diet drinks though. If I can't have the real thing, I don't want any of it. I mostly drink water now. Keep up the good work. Breaking your Mountain Dew addiction is no small thing.

Jessie, I couldn't agree more. Most diet pops taste awful, at least in my opinion. There are only two diet pops that I can tolerate. And that is diet Dr. Pepper and diet Sunkist. The diet Sunkist tastes like the real thing to me. Typically I am a water only gal these days. But occasionally I when I want something with some flavor I will get one of those. My boyfriend had a Mountain Dew the other day. I decided to take just a small sip of my once beloved pop. I can honestly say that it does not taste good to me anymore. Weird how that happens.

I don't care for diet drinks either. I'd rather go without that try to suffer through a diet soda. Two weeks without is great Jessie, keep up the great work. How long has it been for you Alltheangelsenvy? I can only hope that someday I won’t crave it.

Since I have had a real pop? I stopped drinking real pop in July 2012.
