This morning I am doing some experimenting. I had bought a bunch of ingredients to make protein shakes, so now I have to find the right recipe. Mix number one just got poured down the sink - YUCK!

Mix number two is drinkable, but I am sure it can be improved upon. After spending all this money I am determined to find one I like.




Diet Calendar Entry for 12 January 2013:
1512 kcal Fat: 93.48g | Prot: 120.50g | Carb: 45.83g.   Breakfast: Soy Protein Powder, heavy whipping cream, unsweetened almond milk , brewed coffee, almond milk, heavy whipping cream, unsweetened almond milk , brewed coffee. Lunch: Yogurt Feta, sweet red peppers, Dole Salad, Hellmanns, white tuna, diced tomato, ground beef, spinach, chicken broth, pictsweet steam. Dinner: Sweet Red Pepper, tomato, Yogurt Feta, Dole Salad, chicken breast. Snacks/Other: heavy whipping cream, unsweetened almond milk , brewed coffee, cucumber, Celery, green olives, Cream Cheese, butter, egg, cocoa, Soy Protein Powder, almond milk. more...

In love my coconut oil as well, Buffy. I need to start adding it to my coffee again in the morning. Let me know if you find a protein smoothie you like that doesn't taste like protein smoothie! lol

my shake everyday is 1 ice tray full of ice shaved through the blender. Then I add 5 oz skim milk, 2 ounces cold water, 2 tbsp of peanut butter, 2 tbsp of special dark cocoa powder, 1 scoop chocolate protein powder. Blend together and enjoy! I know I do everyday! Another great one is a scoop of vanilla protein powder, 4 ounces skim milk, a few strawberries, half a mashed banana and enough ice to make it creamy.

Yeah, Buffy, GG has a point. You can add protein to so many foods. Remember our flaxseed cereal? I always add a tbsp of protein to that. I like to add brown rice protein or something that thickens it up.

Buffy, in the Atkins book in the section on "What's for Breakfast" in OWL are a couple smoothie recipes. I like the one with strawberries....I use the Body Fortress whey protein powder in vanilla. I like it pretty well, but haven't tried any others.
