Not going to the gym today because of a couple of appts. Had strawberries and yogurt for breakfast today. Last night at work I mentioned to someone I worked with that a lot of my motivation for losing weight was I wanted to look better and look more attractive and she freaked out. "But you're doing it for your health!" I don't know what's so damn taboo about wanting to look more attractive. I am doing it for my health, that's the main motivator. But I don't think I could stay with it as hard if I didn't have the motivator of wanting to look more attractive, as well. The two go hand in hand for me. Just doing it for your health isn't a very sexy reason for me as I'm pouring sweat killing it in the gym. I don't feel like I'm doing it just for men, either. It's exciting for me to get smaller and to see my body change. I like that my body is stronger with more defined muscles. But nothing beats being able to fit into clothes 3 sizes smaller. So I'm not sorry that vanity plays a big role in my motivation to do this. That is just the way I roll.

I think vanity does play a roll for almost everyone. I want to learn to be healthy and make my body stronger, but I want to look good in my jeans too. I don't think it's wrong to want to look good, especially since you're not doing anything unhealthy, like starving yourself, you're doing things the right way which will make you look good in the long run anyway.

Of course we want to look better! And, lucky fr us, we feel better and improve our health at the same time. Your co-workers are not in touch with real people - they seem to be in their own strange little worlds.
