Finally beginning to feel myself again. I still SOUND like a frog, but my energy is up and most of the pains and discomforts of the virus are gone. I got a good nights sleep for the first time in about 4 nights, and I didn't run out of steam while herding and overseeing the 10 kids, ages 16-3, today. Yay! And it was an up day, so I was able to feast tonight with all of the kids and the Paynes.
I feel like I've quickly learned a lot of the ins and outs of logging my calories, but I still wonder if I'm doing a good job logging my activity. I usually have 7 to 10 hours of "rest" left over after I've logged all I can think of. Yet I KNOW I don't have that much time left in a day to sit around. Something is amiss. Maybe I just underestimate the number of hours I spend doing stuff. Of course, there's no activity entry for "attended to frivolous kids stuff", or "went up and down stairs 20 times today for about as many reasons as trips", or "bore child on hip WHILE attending to frivolous kids stuff", so these things are harder to track. Especially since the "frivolous kids stuff" involves a lot of squatting down and getting up, wandering in circles, making trips to the kitchen sink to get a child a drink of water, or a snack, or to wipe a behind, going back and forth between kids to help with/check school work (more circles), overseeing tidying, keeping people motivated to task, supervision and correction... yadayadayada. I can't call it walking exactly. Or sitting. Or housework. And at the end of the day, I'm lucky to sit down and "rest" for 30 minutes. On a rare day with a fast dinner, I might catch a movie (1 1/2 - 2hr) with the family. But those only happen once or twice a month, including weekends. It's just hard to describe. And how do you track calories burned on that? So I just do the best I can. But I don't think I'm close to accurate. Oh, well. All that matters, really, is that I track my calorie intake and make sure it complies with JUDDDD. Everything else is gravy.
Sabbath tomorrow, and a down day. Doing church at home because our church family is all busy this weekend. Should be an easy down day tomorrow.
Looking forward to official weigh-in on Tuesday. The lbs are flying off. I actually woke up this morning and could feel a change on my body both under my hands and as I climbed the stairs. When I got on the scale, I was at 137.5! 5lbs in a week?! AND I'm not officially "done" until the weigh in on Tuesday? And I'm not feeling like I'm fasting or somehow "deprived"?!?! I'm happily flabbergasted.
It'll be interesting to see what my body does when I start working out again this week. And I learned from an article a friend posted on FB the other day that consuming vitamin C (it didn't say how much, but I've got 1000mg tabs) and 3 cups of green tea both really ramp up weight loss, at least doubling it. The vitamin C study was done specifically in conjunction with a treadmill routine, but I'm sure any cardio workout would do. I've got both on hand in the kitchen, and I look forward to playing with them.
I know I just recorded so many random thoughts. It's late. I think I need to go to bed, because I'm getting rambly. Worse than usual, anyway! LOL!
Good night Fatsecret. See you in the morning to log breakfast. :)
