ConniebytheSea's Journal, 10 August 2012

I got into the gym yesterday and got 3 miles in on the treadmill in 45 mins. It felt good to sweat it out a bit! I hadn't been in the gym since my return home from West Virginia. :)
I had to drop my son off at our church at 5:15AM this morning because the youth group is driving up to "Busch Gardens Amusement Park" and spending the night tonight. It was hard to get up, and then impossible to fall back asleep.
Dh and I have a date night planned since our son is off on his own adventure. Actually dh is going to try to get off work mid-day and if it is nice enough weather we might go out on our boat for a few hours. If not we will hangout by our pool this afternoon, and then we have dinner reservations and movie reservations at this new theater in town. It is called "iPic" and it is a theater with in seat dining and drink service. We have another theater in town that is similar but we've heard rumor that this one is even nicer. So we are going to see "Hope Springs". It seems more like a "chick flick" but hubby agreed to go, and I'm looking forward to it!
As soon as I post this journal entry I'm going to figure out my eating plan for the day. ;-)

It sounds like a great evening. Hope hubby comes home early. Ipic, I wonder if we will get one We have cinebistro which is a great concept but the couple times I have been there the food has been just ok, although the seats are great and having martinis during the movie is great too. My kids are going to Busch on Monday while I am away. How long will it take to get there by bus? I have never heard of Hope Springs. I like chick flicks so I'll have to look it up. Enjoy your night with your hubby! I hope the weather holds up for you this afternoon.

Date night! How cool! I've heard of theaters with seat service. They even sell alcohol! We don't have one here yet, though. I'm planning on going to see Hope Springs next week on Cheapy Tuesday. It looks like it will be a great movie (love Meryl Streep!). Let me know what you think!

Cathy - I think it takes about 4 hours to get there from Boca Raton (where we live). They are just taking 2 mini vans, 13 kids and 2 adults divided between 2 vans. The goal was to be there by around 10:00AM so they could spend as much time as possible in the park. They will spend the night at a hotel and then drive back home tomorrow. I've volunteered to take the youth group up to Universal Studios next month for the "Rock the Universe" event. A bunch of Christian bands will be there for 2 nights, and we got 3 day passes to Universal. We currently have 16 tickets but we'll get more if we need more! I'm actually looking forward to going to it myself! I believe 3 other adults have volunteered to go along already. Evelyn - Our Muvico has an upstairs section that has a restaurant and bar area. Only 21 and over are allowed up there, and the seating for the movies is in the "balcony" above the general seating. We love to go upstairs because you can reserve your seat and you don't have to worry about going early in order to get a good seat. I've heard this new place is even nicer so I'm looking forward to checking it out! The restaurant has some interesting "healthy" items so I think I can navigate the evening okay. :) I'll let ya know what I think of the movie. I like Meryl Streep too!

When I saw the word "Busch" I thought "Busch Stadium." That's home for the Cardinals here in St. Louis! Ha! Your sleepy headed boy will have fun I bet. Ta Da! You gave me an idea! I think Imight insist that my hubby & I go see "Hope Springs" after our trip to the orchard store today. We have seen so many violent, bloody action films on "On Demand" this summer. Checks & balances - right? So glad I clicked on your journal. Now the day is complete. So happy for you that you made it to the gym for a nice exercise session. Have a fantastic weekend! You're the best - you know!

Connie those kids will have a ball!! That is a long bus ride though. They will be so excited. Believe it or not I have not been to Universal yet. Whenever we came here for vacations we always went to Disney. My kids have been there and I am hoping to get there too since it's so close now. Sounds like you have a great church. So important. We searched for a long time and finally found one.

Woohooo!!! I just got back from an hour long walk through the neighborhood with my doggy pal! No rain is going to hold me down! LOL! I started out and got 1 house away when I looked back the other direction and saw the rain coming towards me! The next thing I knew I was soaked! I thought, well I'm wet I might as well keep going.....I got one more house away and the thunder got a bit more persistent, and I decided to head back to the house. I sat in the garage for a few minutes because I didn't want to track water into the house, and be cold because of the a/c and the fact that I was soaking wet. And after sitting in the garage texting with my dh, my ds, and my dd for several minutes, the rain stopped and we set out again! This time there was only a few sprinkles and we were able to have a nice long walk. :) I'm feeling much better than I was earlier this morning. W4 - We'll have to compare notes about the movie tomorrow! I promised dh I'd play a few rounds of pool with him later this afternoon, so that our date isn't too "girlie" for him! Ha! Ha! We have a pool table that doesn't get enough use, so sometimes when we have the house to ourselves we put on our favorite music, mix up a cocktail, and get a friendly competition going! I'm thinking that a crystal light lemonade spiked with vodka is sounding really good this afternoon! CC (shortened version for ChattyCathy) - How far is Orlando from Tampa? It takes us about 3 hours to get up to Disney from here, so it's a bit of a drive. We only go when our kids FORCE us! LOL!

Connie left you a comment on my journal. Glad you are feeling better and got your walk in. It must have started raining at the same time here. I have been on the phone with Apple Support for 3 hours. Honestly 3 hours and I am so behind and stressed. Will talk to you soon!

Thank you - Girlfriend - for your tip about the movie "Hope Springs." We went to lunch, went to the movie, went to the orchard & enjoyed a sunny, windy ride home with the windows down all the way. My husband liked the film very much! There appeared to be lots of couples in the theater about our age. Tommy Lee Jones appeals to the guys and meryl Streep appeals to the gals! Wonderful film! Thanks again! Love ya!

Just read your follow up film review over on my journal. My hubby also discussed the film at length. He doesn't usually do that. We counted the number of "comming attractions." A total of seven (7). He wants to see the Bond film when it comes out so I guess it is a trade off. Ha!

W4 - LOL! I also agreed to be at the theater for the upcoming Bond movie! Ha! Ha! Too bad Sean Connery isn't Bond anymore! :)
