It's been a rough few weeks. I've been having a very hard time adjusting to my new job. I don't know why but I am. I feel like I'm finally coming out of that a bit, which is good. I'm sleeping better and my stress levels are lowering bit by bit.
My sugar cravings have been off the charts lately too. Eating schedule is non-existant. For example, today I had a huge breakfast about 8AM. Lunch happened at 3PM. Dinner was a small handful of chips on the way home tonight at 11PM. Not a good schedule at all. The only good thing that came out of today, in regards to diet, is that I managed to guzzle 80 oz. of water. That's on par with what I should be drinking. (So happy I finally found a water bottle to replace the one I lost.) I fill my bottle 3x each day. That 3rd time can be tough to get down.
I am working on finding a way to really keep up on eating well. My schedule seems so "all over the place" sometimes that it makes it tough. My current household is light on the tupperware & I can't afford more right now. There's usually only enough clean for me to pack lunch. Dinner often is whatever I can scavenge on whatever side of town I happen to be on.
Anyway, I think I've wrangled something that will work in the mean time. I stocked up on some black bean patties and Chk'n patties in the freezer and my garden is popping out squash faster than I can eat it. I have been keeping stocked on peppers and cucmbers and carrots. I can chop some veggies and throw a pattie or two and that gets me through lunch and a snack later. By the time dinner comes, all I really want is some soup and I'm set. Trying to be sure I hit at least 1200 calories a day though. Less than that, I get hungry and the cravings are ridiculous.
I'm going to follow the Carbohydrate's Addict plan for 2 weeks to see if I can get my cravings under control. By the end of the week, I'll know if I have some extra sugar hiding in my diet somewhere I can't see. Cake is obvious, cookies are obvious. Did you know Centrum vitamins have sugar in their coating? I didn't know that until the last time I followed this plan. After a week, I still had horrid cravings. I looked at the ingredients for everything. Even my toothpaste (which was ok). It was my multi. Changed brands and everything went well after that. I am out of vitamins right now so this time I should be ok. LOL
Ok. My friend's cat that I'm cat sitting for is demanding my presence. It's also almost 1AM. Time for bed.
Oh, I finally was able to weigh myself about a week or so ago. I thought I was doing good. Gained almost 5 lbs. I'm back over 200 again. Sigh. Must stay positive.
