Started the Metformin for my PCOS, side effects, side effects, OH MY GOSH THE SIDE EFFECTS!!!

After spending two days with my heart pounding, so dizzy I was unable to stand, headaches, fatigue, in addition to the standard diarrhea, I'm feeling MUCH BETTER! I called my doctor and she said she thinks we did too high a dose too fast. So rather than calling in a new prescription, I'm just cutting my pills in half. After another week of this I'll very slowly ease the full pills back in.

ANYWHO, as a result, I haven't eaten well or done any kind of dieting or exercise routine since Saturday. I've just eaten whatever the hubby plopped in front of me on the couch, which always consisted of fast food. But now that my medication is straigtened out, I'm getting back on the wagon.

To leave on a positive note... since I renewed my dedication to dieting and exercise, I've noticed a definate improvement in how I feel overall. I just feel better. I don't know how else to phrase it. I attribute this in LARGE part to kicking my sugar addiction. Since I did that, I don't CRAVE the sweets like I used to. Every day when I got home I'd HAVE to have something sweet. If I didn't get it or if I was out, I would go and get something sweet. I don't think I ever realized just how "addicted" I was until now that I'm looking back on the situation with out that feeling. I had always chalked my need for sweets up to stress. I DO stress eat, even now, but since overcoming the sugar addiction, I almost NEVER stress eat anymore. Maybe the all the "stress" I thought I had was really my sugar addiction in disguise. I was stressed because I wanted to eat sweets but none were available, or I wasn't getting as much as I wanted??? Food for thought.

I know exactly what you mean when you state, "I just feel better." Living healthy improved so many indescribable facets of our lives! Hang tough with your treatments for ovarian cycts. I experienced a hard time with those kinds of symptoms also. The pain I had was "dull" but constant - just a sort of "heaviness" in the abdomen. Take Care Kiddo!

When I started metformin since it can give you tummy troubles I started one pill a week till I was taking three pills. So it took me three weeks to take the full med. The only problem I have noticed is being nauses.
