Alright, so I've been slacking off tremendously and have definitely payed for it (gained 10 lbs in last 4 mths). I feel like a loser because I worked so hard to finally break the 170-165lb cycle I had been stuck on since I started weighing in last year in Oct. I've started my workout/calorie counting routine several times in the last 4 months only to quickly fall off.

Yesterday I started my work out again (hr of stairmaster) and now entering my food. I'm trying to get in at least 3 days/wk of cardio plus eliminate empty calories.

Got a 41st birthday coming up in two months. My goal is to lose 20 lbs by 9/22. Wish me luck people.

Good Luck. What happens if you don't make it? Are you a loser? I had Gastric By-Pass surgeryon 6/12, because I was in the 475-500 cycle for the past two years. and prior to that, I ws in the 425-475 cycle. You are not the number, you are you. Loved for and cared for by the people who matter most in your life. Attain the goal, strive for it and don't look back, but the very first step is to examine why you're doing it. I made my choice to have surgery and follow a new lifestyle in order to survive, actually to thrive. You can do it, but only if you focus on the reason for doing it. If you drop the 20, does that give you the freedom to go nuts on your birthday? Cool, but if you do will you then feel like a loser if doing so causes you to gain again? just stuff to think about, from someone who is 45 and struggled all their life.
